And now for the Controversal opinion 1

Avenging Spider-ManIf you haven't seen the hype for this, then you've done the impressive. The GoodIt was enjoyable. The writing is light and the art is very stylish. Which is what the huge draw of this book is.The BadI'm actually very disappointed because for four bucks, I feel like I got nothing. Remember that free pamphlet you got a while ago about this book? Congratulations, that was half that book. It ends a few pages afterwards. Not only that, but the plot just ends a very little is accompl...

Just what the doctor ordered 4

I saw an ad for this book coming out about two weeks ago. It said something like, "what you've been waiting for is finally here." And I realized I hadn't been waiting for Avenging Spider-Man because this ad was the first I had ever heard of the title's existence, proof positive that I mostly ignore pretty much every non-story-panel page in any book I read. But I saw two things in that advertisement, the name Spider-Man and the name Zeb Wells and I said, "ok, ad. now I am waiting for this and I'm...

    Seeing Red 0

Ill start off by saying that it's nice to see WebHead or really any hero being perfectly reasonable. He isn't going to take down a massive robot, there is no reason to attack some birds, and he has a really hard time getting around. Poor Spider-Man is a sad sad boy with no time on his hands. Let me also say that this is a very interesting issue. I don't know what to think about it, is it a spider man title or is it more of a team up issue. I don't know, I love his banter with big red. It could u...

    The King is Back! 1

I apologize if you thought Jack Kirby rose from the dead to haunt us with some amazing pencils. I was referring to a certain Joe Madureira. One of my favorite artists of all time. His fluid pencils and stylized poses alone are enough to get me to read the book. If a braindead chimp was hammering out the script by seizing on a typewriter, I would still pick up this book if Joe Mad was the one penciling it. And have I ever mentioned how much I love that he doesn't use an inker? I think there are v...

Why did this have to come out NOW? 0

This book has perfect Spider-humor and GREAT art! If I weren't currently trying to shed books from my pull list because of finances, this book would DEFINITELY be on my pull list. If you love Spider-Man you'll love this book. It's Spider-Man team-ups and those were some of my favorite books in my youth. The villian is a cross-over villain that other NYC-based heroes have fought. I wonder if/how this affects things in those books....

Maybe Spidey will get to say "Avengers, assemble" in this series 0

Synopsis: Spider-Man teams up with Rulk. What's Good? What I noticed about the two Avengers books that Spider-Man is a part of is that he seems like a fifth wheel in both groups. He's the funny (annoying) guy that just pisses you off especially when the situation is serious (and the way both series has been so far, there have been some tense situations). But let's put it in Spidey's perspective. While he did some amazing things as a superhero, I can understand why he feels out of place with hero...

Good, but Avenging What exactly? 0

I thing what stuck out to me the most when i first picked up The Avenging Spiderman was the use of "Avenging". What comes to mind for me when i think of an Avenging Spiderman is the badass Spiderman from Kraven's Last Hunt or The Grim Hunt; however throughout this first issue Spiderman is primarily his good natured self; Granted thats not a bad thing as well of the fact that this is a first issue and all. nitpicking aside i feel that this issue really was just a fun read, the fact that it doesn'...

    Spiderman and Friends 0

I haven't picked up a Spiderman comic in over a year, I've read some here and there but I haven't kept track of everything. Recently, I told my ten year old cousin, I would buy him comics if he would get good grades. Somehow he got the good grades, the hard part was to find a comic that had Wolverine, Hulk and Spiderman. I found this and it amazed me how good the comic is being spidey-centric but still gives time to the other heroes. This is an awesome read, because my cousin and I won't be bogg...

    I want Kool-Aid! 2

Spider-Man has always been one of my favourite characters, because of his witty commentary and nerdy alter ego. So I had high hopes going into this #1...Good:It was hilarious! From Spidey trying to get a ride home, to him trying to help Jameson, i was laughing. The art work was a little cartoony but it felt right, but each character was drawn differently in accordance to their body type. Unlike JL where each character is more or less the same body type. Wells and Madereirs have done a great job....

What a great thing that is the oportunity of seeing Joe Madureira's art one more time, especially when it's rendered in such amazing colors (this Ferran dude did an awesome job) and with Joe in the top of his game, combining all the elements that bonds with his style - for all the people that had a bad experience reading his Ultimates run, I guarantee you: this is the good stuff, this is Joe Madureira at his best, it's Battle Chasers with manga great stuff! This is probably one of the best stint...
