    Not a great start

    Story

A slow pace to this issue allows a little for character development - fine if you are new to these characters - but this has been hyped up to be the greatest Marvel tale ever and for it to live up to that billing the pace and action needs to be coming a lot thicker and a lot faster.

    Art

A huge disappointment with too many characters having either body or head in disproportion to what they should be. Not Romita's finest hour and certainly not Marvel's.

    Conclusion

I cannot for the life of me understand how G-Man (or anyone else for that matter) can give this issue 5 stars. The art is so below par for such a big crossover event, it looks rushed and as if Romita has hacked it out under the pressure of a looming deadline. The story has scope for improvement and the end of this issue gives us hope that the action will really kick in next time around. Anyone who thinks this is a 5-star issue is either easy to please of has Marvel colored eye balls. The more discerning reader will know far better and will expect much better for this allegedly huge event.

Recommended! This issue was better than the prologue. Still not perfect, but getting there. My hope for this 12 issue event is rising. At this point, I have decided to declare my allegiance with the Avengers. I know it may seem like I am jumping on the "hate Cyclops" bandwagon, but I just feel a greater affinity for the Avengers - and it is not because I am a big Steve Rogers fan. In fact, I am not a big fan of either side's leader. It is the more "family" and "team oriented" feel to the Avengers...
