It’s the marquis comics event of the fall – uniting the Avenger & X-Men for a desperate battle against the Red Skull and his armies. But first, experience the ‘March to AXIS’, the epic lead-in to Avengers & X-Men: AXIS in your first look at MAGNETO #9 – from critically acclaimed creators Cullen Bunn & Gabriel Hernandez Walta! Magneto is on a mission to put a permanent stop to anyone hunting mutants. What’s he going to do when he discovers that mutants are being hauled away to the Red Skull’s re-education camps? That alone would be enough to invoke the wrath of the Master of Magnetism. Now ask yourself what he’s going to do when he finds out the Red Skull stole the brain of his deceased friend and ally – Charles Xavier? Things are about to get messy. But can he overcome the Red Skull and his terrifying S-Men? Avengers & X-Men: AXIS looms on the horizon, but your first taste comes this September as the ‘March to AXIS’ begins in MAGNETO #9!

Preview pages look great. I just hope this stupid event doesn't ruin my favorite Marvel book.

Cullen Bunn Magneto and Sinestro is great. Now big 2 please let Bunn write all the anti hero :)

@fallschirmjager: Love how you know the event will be stupid without it even having hinted at starting yet. The internet, ladies and gentlemen.

Frankly I've found this title to be okay but not great, so I think it could use some real direction.

Bad concept + all of Marvel's recent events have sucked. Add in their slew of recent dumb announcements and its hardly a reach.

Then you can also add into the fact that events sidetrack books far more often than help.

Suffice to say, I'm not interested in it whatsoever. So yes. Its stupid.

The book is great as is, it doesn't need constant tie in crap.

@fallschirmjager: Wow, you're really blowing this out of proportion

Not really. I'm tired of events ruining my favorite books. I don't want to see it happen anymore.

Pretty simple.

Don't agree? Good for you. You're entitled to your own opinion as much as I'm entitled to mine.

@fallschirmjager: I actually agree, it's why I'm only reading Marvel books that don't tie in to events, Elektra, Black Widow, Punisher, Ms.Marvel. I'm tired of having titles being forced into events, like how two thirds of Marvel was "an Original Sin tie in".

@the_stegman: Action Comics got ruined by Doomed and JL/Forever evil was ghey too.

As a whole, unless your name is Valiant, you suck at events.

@fallschirmjager:

I sorta liked his Capt. America run :(

Anyway, IN REMENDER WE TRUST!

So did JLD with that ridiculous Blight arc and JLA with FE.

@fallschirmjager: the first arc was great. And Ian is an interesting character. The only issue I really had was Falcon holding him while he cried.

I wonder if we're going to see a solo Magneto movie. That would be awesome.

In Remender I trust. I've actually been loving his Cap run. The Iron Nail's ideology was something that really spoke to me -- in a way. His time in Dimension Z was weird and brutal, also a great read. I dunno, I guess I can see why some Cap fans aren't enjoying it. He couldn't do what Brubaker just did, and he didn't.

I'm also looking forward to Sam taking over for a while. I'll miss Steve being Cap, but I hope to have some Batman Beyond moments with old Cap helping Sam out. And eventually seeing Cap stand up again and wield the shield, because that's what he does best.

Magneto has been a real great book so far, and can see how this will likely organically tie into Axis. And hey! I'm looking forward to Axis too!

I'm not reading this, but I do like the art.

I like Magneto, am kinda interested to see how he gets to where it was announced he'll be during AXIS, but I doubt I'll pick up this book. Seeing Erik on a killing spree is not how I choose to spend my dollars...unless someone is stopping him.

The book has dropped a little in quality because of all of the changes of the artist but so far the AXIS tie-ins for the book seem to have lots of potential.
