Really? Alex? Havok was never the most important X-Men, why is Remender using Havok like he's the most important mutant.

See Remender's Uncanny Avenger for the answers to why it's Havok.

I've been reading Uncanny Avengers since issue 1 & only missing the latest issue 23 BUT i forgot why Alex too.

Alex is the leader of the Uncanny Avengers (and this event was mainly built there and in Remender's Captain America run). Aside from that, if you think about it, Alex is one of the five most important leaders in the X-Men. Sure he has always been under his brother's shadow, but that doesn't mean he's not important (and I love what Remender has done with the character, he's the only mutant leader I agree with right now, and the only one that really feels to be chasing Xavier's dream)

LOL, Havok is far from a top 5 leaders of Mutant kind.

Magneto

Cyclops

Xavier

Rogue

Storm

Nightcrawler

Cable

Psylocke

etc. They are all far better leader than Havok.

I said "five important leaders in the x-men". Rogue has never lead an X-Men team (as far as I know) and the same can be applied to Magneto and Xavier, who, ok, they do lead the X-men at some point, but never were team leaders (I was talking about team leaders -also, Xavier did for a while and turn out to be useless). As far as "leading a team" go I do think Alex is far better prepared to lead a team than Psylocke, so my top 5 leaders will be Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Storm, Cable and Alex.

Also, when I said "mutant leader" I was referring about mutant leaders right now, if I have to choose between Wolverine and his school ideas (elitistic fucks who want to be left alone), Scott and his revolution (they don't want pacific coexistence anymore, they only care about mutants) and Alex and his avengers squad (He doesn't think mutants and humans are different and is the only one who's still pursuing Xavier's goals IMO) I will go with Alex all the way.

@squares: Marvel during stan lee-Jack Kirby- steve ditko era is not about money. Marvel during 80's is not about money, it is about character development and story. But in 2000's forward, Marvel decide to milk the cash cow from events after events

totally agree.

hey now. Remender has proven himself to be good in writing events and mixing various characters that had little interaction before. in him i trust.

if nothing else, i'm interested in seeing the grudge match of the century: Red Skull (who was a nazi and stole prof x's brain) vs Magneto (who was a nazi victim and rival/friend of prof x).

I love how this big important event that will forever rock the mutant world isn't even crossing over with the 3 main x-books. All-New, Uncanny, and "Adjectiveless" X-Men are blissfully off in their own worlds. Looks like Amazing X-Men will be sitting it out too. Let's hope it stays that way!

True facts: No one cares about the Red Skull.

Seriously they should have let the Skull be dead. Fear Itself was a cool event and it if they didn't do this it would have left me with good memories of the character/legacy. Now it's just annoying that I have to wait for another two year long story line to be finished and forgotten.

The Red Skull is like Saber Tooth is for Wolverine, except for the entire Marvel Universe if you get what I'm saying.

I really hope this event gives Magneto and Cyclops their due as the new Badasses of the X-men. If anyone should get to take out Red Skull it should be Magneto. I mean the guy is a Nazi that stole his best friends corpse. No one else has near a big an axe to grind as ol' Max.

After all of the crappy stories Marvel has put out in the past 3 years, this looks equally as bad, overall. (the red skull part looks ok.) Marvel always say things will "never be the same" after stories are done, but the status quo always goes back to normal, and therefore I really don't want to spend my money on Marvel's yearly BIG stories anymore, because it won't really matter in a few months when everything goes back to normal.

I see a lot of hate for a series that hasn't come out yet. Granted Marvel is shelling out these events like fast food, but I'm going to still pick it up. One can hope that it is good.

Infinity is tied to both of the Avengers and New Avengers book. It brought us the current series of Mighty Avengers, Ms Marvel, Inhuman. It set up future stories involving the Kree and Skrull empires as well as a future story for Thane. It shook the royal family of the Inhumans.

Indeed Infinity was a good one alright. I just hope Remender's magic from his Uncanny X-Force run returns in this event as his game here needs to be much bigger now that it affects alot in the 616 universe.

For me it has a lot to do with the SpiderWoman Gwen version we're getting in SpiderVerse. I hope in some way, shape or form we get more stories from her.

yeah that's different, probably just because he can't really use Cyclops.

Looking forward to the Hobgoblin and Carnage mini series but other than that I'll pass. Original Sin has been really good, better than expected, I'd like to leave off on a high note before Remender starts killing everyone.

I'll give Marvel this much, Axis has me intrigued. Maybe not enough to buy into it, but enough that I'm nervous for how Red Skull's plans will affect the world and mutants. The X-Men stories that have always shaken me up the most, are the ones where Religious/Political Anti-Mutant agendas threaten Mutantkind in Mind or Body. In this case Red Skull's hatewave, and the Conditioning Camps on Genosha.

It's tinged with that same fear and desperation that X-Tinction Agenda had back in the day.

My ONE hope is that AXIS is not Marvel's Flashpoint and after this is over we are not looking down the barrel of a line-wide reboot of the universe.
