    Down In The Red

    The Story:

Brother Blood has become avatar of the Red. The only things left standing in his way are Buddy Baker and his daughter Maxine. Blood's minions the Splinterfolk are his foot soldiers in his plan to eliminate the Baker family.

    Thoughts:

Since the debacle of Rotworld ended, this book has been on a complete roll of awesomeness. Lemire's work on Green Arrow has been universally praised (and rightly so) but I think this title is currently neck and neck with that series in terms of sheer brilliance. Lemire is joined on this new arc by artist Rafael Albuquerque of American Vampire fame. He brings an intense art style not seen in this book since Jeff Lemire. That's no disrespect to Steve Pugh but RA's art is absolutely perfect for this series.

    The Score:

    5/5

Lemire and RA have this book running on all cylinders. Brilliant writing and fantastic art make this one of the best comics on the market today.
