The Old Woman who lived in a Shoe

More of an anecdotal comedic character, the old woman has nonetheless taken on a sort of parallel reference to fairy tales, although she is not a fairy tale character per se.  In the original English poem she is depicted as cruel but generally she is regarded as a pleasant mother.
