Trap Card activated! One of my hobbies is archiving unusual McDonalds incidents, rumors, myths etc. One of the neat factoids I've found is knock off restaurants will use legally distinct variations on the name to trick people into visiting and avoid legal repercussions.
Tangential, it's a fairly common trope in creepypasta to have the protag encounter a well known establishment with a misspelled name or bizarre logo etc. If I may don my honorary tinfoil hat, given the supernatural nature of the story above this could be a hint at otherworldly forces at play a la The Angels, Devils and Squid trope. Or it could be a typo.
@ficopedia: I lost my librarian log in lol. I was actually working on a Wild West reading order but most of them are dated and really no crossovers aside from the contest one so kind of pointless. I'll have to look into this.
@batkevin74: This is so vague and random and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I was expecting some sort of historicity given your skills with alt history stuff, but this is even better because I'm bad at alt history. Great prompt! I'll start turning my gears immediately
@batkevin74: @cbishop: A thought, chums. Since the tie was broken by gentlemen's dual only to be reinstated by late vote (by request) why not simply declare this the first tie win, and you both contribute an idea to the next contest? The only downside would be if you both count a win that wouldn't tally with the number of contests.
Or, one of you take the tally win (the glory) the other gets the prize (the next contest theme)
@a_fine_edition: Godzilla being sidelined is the biggest complaint in the fandom right now, and I wouldn't disagree, but so far as I've heard next movie is more Godzilla so that's nice. I also agree Shimo was a little underwhelming. I'm not going to make predictions on her though as almost every one of my predictions so far were spectacularly wrong.
That reads great. It really does. But it boils down to "Write original fanfic under this banner" you need a hook. An angle. Marvel Iron Age went hard because it was original fanfic but it had a hook. You would probably have better luck using your enthusiasm and making a new world with rules and setting and delicious, meaty HOOKS.
