I’d pick Batman for Scott Snyder’s run alone. It’s my favorite Batman run of all time and probably my favorite comic book run period, and I’ve read a few comics over the years since the late ‘80s.

From 2013 to 2021: Zero Year, Endgame, Bloom, The Last Knight on Earth, Dark Nights: Metal, The Batman Who Laughs, All-Star Batman, and Death Metal are all top notch stuff and range from very good to downright amazing, in my opinion. Take it back two more years to 2011 and you can add the excellent Court of Owls saga and Death of the Family to that list as well.

Moreover, while I personally didn’t like Tom King’s Batman and haven’t read any of Tynion IV’s, I know both of those runs from the last few years were generally pretty well-liked too.

A few quick things I noticed:

1. Batman helped Superman in that World Forger scenario they cited. Superman had help, but they didn’t mention that.

2. Supes didn’t destroy the World Forger’s entire multiverse with that sun-dipped mega punch. He destroyed part of it, and there is no indication of exactly how much of it was destroyed. Moreover, he only briefly KO’d the World Forger with that punch, didn’t kill him. Also, all of the surrounding heroes who were standing nearby on the planet survived.

3. That goes to say, it’s interesting that they chose to use an assisted prep-time feat to give Supes the victory. It was definitely cool to watch, though.

Unless they use one specific era/continuity for Superman (excluding Silver Age) and stick to those feats exclusively, my guess is they will give him the win again. Shoot, they’ll probably give him the win regardless.

I suspect the biggest reason for this rematch is simply the money they hope to make from it.

Goku’s mental fortitude, by my estimation, is likely far tougher than Kakashi’s. Goku’s astounding willpower to never quit, no matter what the punishment is to his body, is pretty well documented. I could totally see him just thinking of it as a great training exercise for both mind and body and then asking to do it again. In the end, Itachi might be the one driven mad by Goku’s unbreakable resolve.
