Karna is the leader of the tribal sect of Themyscarian Amazons called The Bana (Amazon Sect). Once they were separated from the rule of Hippolyta, they remained more barbaric still very suspicious of the outside world, especially of men.
Karna is a master of manipulating others to get what she wants. Her tribe comes first. However in Amazons Attack! readers see that it's Circe who is really pulling the puppet strings. Karna pretends to recruit Grace Choi only as a ploy to lure the greatest superheroes into a battle with all of the Amazons.
