Baki stomps. Saying Goku is a better martial artist is pure wank.
On top of the fact Bakinis much more ruthless and much more cunning when it comes to fighting.
@heatwave666: I will bet you 1 million dollars that if you asked Itagaki he'd say Goku was more skilled too.
The other thing you just added is completely worthless. Vegeta is much more ruthless than Baki. But in terms of skill he and Goku are still even.
@heatwave666: Itagaki is the author of Baki lmao
Goku is more skilled by virtue of knowing far more martial arts and having much, much, much, more experience and has literally trained with martial arts gods.
@heatwave666: In terms of martial arts. He has trained under gods and such and hus martial arts is transcendental
In what way are those gods martial arts better than the training Baki has received? And what martial arts does he know. Name them? Becasue I can name the variants of martial arts Baki actually destroyed.
Baki has fought individuals much more experience than he is.
All we have seen from Gokubis that he is a brawler. No distinguishable fighting styles.
Baki wins this with actual showings, idc if Goku trains with the gods but it doesn't look like he's more skilled from what I've seen.
@heatwave666: What do you mean in what way do the gods have skill? Do you even know what Baki is? Baki is based on real world martial arts and levels of skill. They just have superhuman physicals which makes it look inhuman.
In Dragon Ball their level of skill transcends that of the real world. That's why fighters like Hercule are a complete joke who would be a very accomplished or notable fighter in Baki.
@hydratedfubuki6: He absolutely is more skilled. You are basically saying Muhammad Ali is a more skilled fighter than Master Roshi by arguing that Baki is better than the likes of Goku.
@heatwave666: Lol then you have no idea what you are talking about.
Ali Junior has actually beaten people with more h2h showing than Roshi.
One of the attributes of Baki itself is it actually dissects the genius in the fighters during their fights.
What have Roshi and Goku ever shown to demonstrate their genius in pure H2H combat. I’m fully up to date on Z and skill has gone completely out the window. All that matters now is power.
Show me the showing that proves Goku’s style of fighting is superior to Baki’s. Just saying “he was trained under gods” has nothing to do with individual skill. Especially considering the main reason for his training was to learn a new attack or boost his Ki level.

@heatwave666: Someone already posted it above^^
@heatwave666: You are wanking the characters because it appeals to real world martial arts and pretending that 100s of showings of martial arts skill do not exist in Dragon Ball. Where literal martial arts gods (immortal ones not metaphorical) exist.
There are gods with literal millions of years of combat experience. Who are not as good as Goku.
So not only is this scan PIS Becasue in no way should he be reacting to Jiren... it’s showing him dodging someone who hasn’t shown skill Of their own. All Jiren is is a slugger.
@hydratedfubuki6: He absolutely is more skilled. You are basically saying Muhammad Ali is a more skilled fighter than Master Roshi by arguing that Baki is better than the likes of Goku.
Goku might be more skilled by intent but what I'm saying if they fight just like how they were / how it looks then Baki takes it.
@heatwave666: There are many, many, many, more showings than that.
@hydratedfubuki6: It doesn't look more skilled. Your comment is blatant bias because it appeals to a different demographic of martial arts/fighting and you know it.
Im not even wanking Baki. A significant part of the show is directing their abilities and actually analyzing the marital arts they use.
Who care if the gods Goku is fighting are millions of years old. You still need to provide feat dissecting their battle expertise. Dragonball hasn't focused on skill in martial arts for a LONG time now. The main focus as of now is just straight up power.

It's not intended to be PIS, or a gag scene or anything the whole scene was about the fruition of Roshi's training and life experiences with martial arts helping him achieve this psuedo-ultra instinct to the point where he can temporarily dance around someone millions of times stronger and faster than him.
@heatwave666: Yes you are and it is painful to watch.
Akira made it actually quite clear early on that if a Dragon Ball character is good enough. If they are physically capable they can copy techniques and combat forms after only seeing it once. I am 1000% sure. That Majin Buu, Tien, and Goku could copy literally any technique they see at the levels they are at in Baki after seeing it done once. IF they thought it was even worth copying.
Do people just forget that Goku was able to learn and effectively use techniques like the Kamehameha and Hakai completely on his own after seeing them once, while it took his far older and more experienced predecessors astronomically longer to do the same? Or mastering Ultra Instinct in like 30 minutes while the Gods in his verse haven't even reached the level of being able to maintain Omen for more than a few seconds (Beerus) in hundreds of million years?
Lol at Goku not having skill showings recently.
It's almost as if Ki wasn't restricted in this fight. Show his skill in hand to hand combat.

We might as well do this the old fashioned way and just post feats that are a testament to their skill and battle prowess.
@gelato_exotic: It is completely asinine. The mindset of these Western fans that think Dragon Ball characters aren't astronomically skilled fighters has always been mind boggling to me.
If you said things as stupid as the some of the people in this thread have in Japan. You would be nuked by every anime/manga fan and or writer in a 5 yard radius.
@mee09: lol
@heatwave666: What do you mean post feats? Some people will do it just to get the point across. But you can literally Google everything we just said.
This is information that has been around on the internet since the early to mid 2000s.
@mee09: People seem to refuse to give DB characters the credit they deserve for no reason other than bias lol. It's always surreal to see psuedo-intellectuals going through leaps of logic to argue nonsense like Mori Jin or Naruto being comparable to Goku in skill nowadays.

Meaning I want you to show how skilled Goku is in Martial arts and technique. Someone above mentioned Goku Copying techniques. That's cool... Baki memorizes his opponents fighting pattern completely when he is going through shadow boxing training.
There was another fight in which Baki straight up murked 37/100 men holding weapons all at once
Feats such as that. Baki at the time while having extraordinary physicals was still weak enough to withstand damage from a ordinary man. Yet he was weaving dodging and countering all of the at once.
If you want to talk about UI which is Ki based Baki was able to pull that off at 13.

Literally Budokai Tournament 21-23 is just Goku dismantling world renown Martial Artist
There was another fight in which Baki straight up murked 37/100 men holding weapons all at once
Goku took out and entire army wielding guns and missiles.
Single handily taking them out with just melee
Feats such as that. Baki at the time while having extraordinary physicals was still weak enough to withstand damage from a ordinary man. Yet he was weaving dodging and countering all of the at once.
Goku tanked point blank bullets to head Episode 1
Kicked a heat seeking missile way.
Dodged point blank gun fire while on the ground and while hovering in the air.
Also dodged explosion of heat seeking missile the moment it exploded
This is Goku at his weakest and least skilled version.
12 years old
If you want to talk about UI which is Ki based Baki was able to pull that off at 13.
Goku was competing in Martial Arts Tournament with the world's greatest martial artist at Age 12.
His mentor / Grandpa Gohan was one of the world's greatest who trained him as a baby.
Revived even more training from Master Roshi, Korin and Kami
UI isn't even Ki based. It's fueled by Ki which is literally almost everything in DB. It still requires an immense amount of training, experience, understanding of the body, and the right mental capacity to achieve.
@heatwave666: there's base goku vs hit. Base goku vs ssj 2 caulifla. Ssg goku vs broly. Goku vs hit for the second time. All of the tournaments he participated in. His sparing with meerus. He took down an army base as a kid. Pretty much every fight he's ever had or have been in since he was a kid and onwards.
Goku probably wrecks Baki, he's taller, has more reach and has a bigger frame than Baki, and is more experienced and more skilled than him. People seriously love to underestimate the skills that DBZ characters have just because the series has more outright showings of power recently but that doesn't negate the earlier showing of skill in Dragonball and the continued showing in Z/Super. Goku and the rest of the Z fighters are outright combat/martial arts geniuses, Goku is like a martial arts savant. Goku predicted Hit's strikes perfectly despite him having been frozen in time and unable to see them during the U6/U7 tournament and mastered UI in less than 45 minutes, something that even literal gods, who are also martial arts geniuses, haven't mastered in tens of millions of years. Goku also has feats of copying techniques after seeing them only once any technique that Baki used Goku could copy and see straight through and use more effectively given his physical advantages over him. UI isn't Ki based, it's based on mentality and martial arts skill, it has no relation to the user's Ki other than the transformation making the user stronger.
Literally everything you posted of Goku relied on him be unaffected by standard weaponry and moving at hypersonic speeds. Speed is equalized in this fight. If you want to demonstrate his skills show me feats of Goku fighting people within his stat class.

You brought up Baki going up against "37 men". So I refuted by saying Goku fought an entire army , which he did.
You also brought up Baki's physicals and dodging things so I simply did the same for Kid Goku.
If you want to demonstrate his skills show me feats of Goku fighting people within his stat class.
You mean like, Master Roshi, Tien, Grandpa Gohan, King Piccolo & Piccolo Jr.?
???
I think it is important to remember that there is no ki, superhuman attributes, and so on in this match. Meaning a lot of these examples are hard to translate in a powerless, stat-equalized, H2H that tests nothing but martial technique.
Goku stomps, he has good feats against the ones like Moro in the manga regarding martial arts, has great showings as a kid, and he is more experienced in general. Not to mention, Ultra Instinct. It was not restricted so...he can win with that alone with no troubles.
