More great frontier action behind a beautiful painted Black Diamond cover ( by Walt Howarth) this issue. The action starts with Dick Ayer’s original Ghost Rider, The Haunted Horseman in “Magico Vs. The Haunted Horseman!! Then, it’s Redmask in “The Luck of Major Hanley”, drawn by Frank Bolle, followed by cover-feature Black Diamond in “Terror Island”, drawn by Bill Walton. As usual, Drango Kid is spotlighted in “The Man Who Hated Everybody”- drawn by Fred Guardineer, American Eagle in “Laughing Dog’s Revenge, and Lone Rider in ” Glittering Shadows”. Bonus features include two Pistol Packin’ Pattie shorts by Bolle, “Ill Feelings” and “Cuts Him Short”, (both by Bolle) and an inside cover photo still of Charles Starrett as The Durango Kid- with Smiley Burnette!! Great full-story reprints from the Golden Age of the Western comic book, featuring stories originally appearing in books published by Magazine Enterprises, Prize Comics, Ajax-Farrell, and Lev Gleason, in the 1940′s and ’50′s. 44 pages, black & white with color cover. Standard Best of the West size; 61/2″ X 10″.
