Never understood Iceman's popularity myself. It seems like he was just kind of the obligatory humorous character until the 90s when Nicieza apparently read a 6th grade level book about science and figured out that Iceman could potentially do more than just shoot ice with the ability to manipulate moisture in the air. Then, after that, a lot of people claimed to be fans of his but probably didn't mean it. Then, again, for a while, nobody really cared about him until Bendis made him gay and again, like clockwork, people claim to be a big fan and liberals and SJWs will tell you how he was always gay and how much they love it.....though they really probably don't care or mean it. He will sink into obscurity again.

Colossus is infinitely more interesting and I would say has been more salient to the X-Men franchise. His problem is that writers seem to never seem know what to with him.

Well Iceman got my vote but Colossus isn't so far behind
