    A medal for Mutants

Portacio returning to X-Men is a big deal for me, not only because he knows how to pencil the most loved mutants in a very precise and efficient way, but in a kinda nostalgic way it made me feel good about the X-Men's future, like, making a link to the past with the future.
I guess this one shot fullfilled it´s purpose, that is introducing the X-Men to a new era, the Heroic Age, and what could be more simbolic than Steve Rogers himself reckoning that Scott Summers is the mutant race leader and that the X-Men is important to the world, as all the mutants are equal? It was a very powerfull message.
Hope and Beast's stories were also ok, but really didn´t mean anything profound to the X-Men chronology: Hank's thing was much more personal and philosofical (kinda cute too) and Hope's piece was a check up.
I´d really liked the ending: Cycke backing up Hope, that was a big deal.
I´m having high hopes for the mutant race and I guess this new era is going to be very good.

In fact, often my favorite issues of comics are the quite ones where you get to know the characters better. Granted, this book chose chara...

Uncanny X-Men: The Heroic Age 0

This X-Men one shot shows some of the aftermath of the events of Second Coming. The story is broken up into 3 main sub-stories which allows us to see more of the X-Men in the Marvel Universe beside being targets for destruction, which has been common over the last few years.  The first story is primarily about Cyclops and how he is handling things since the events of second coming. First there is a dispute with Beast over the direction the X-Men have taken recently.  Hank is uncomfortable with t...
