    Setting the Stage

Flash is in Venice with Angela and has just proposed, when the proverbial wheels come off.  Suddenly attacked by Replicant, he throws Angela into the water and freezes it over.  She's stuck under the ice.  How creepy is that, trapped under the ice.
Immediately in this issue, we are thrown into the mix.  Replicant attacks and Flash is trying to save his beloved Angela.
I think it's a great twist to the plot... as it looks like Replicant is going to defeat our hero, he's... poof... gone.
I must say, the quick pace of this story was great.  It was action right from the word go.  It also had some mystery to it... things that were keeping me guessing.  What is Garrick up to?  What is Gizmo building and why is it so important to what is going on?  Why in blazes did Kadabra grab Replicant out of Venice like that?  What is up with Impulse?  He's talking to somebody that's not there, calling this person Linda.
I felt the story flowed well.  It is keeping me guessing and keeping me interested all the way through.   Then to top it off, here comes Professor Zoom to the party.  This is not looking good for our heroes.
The art in this issue is very pleasing to my eyes.  The colors are well done.
Of course, I'm grabbing the next issue to see what happens.
