What Can Stop the Third Army?

I have never read any of this series in the past but have heard overall the series has been quite good. I haven't gotten in the past as I can only really afford one Green Lantern based comic but due to the Rise of the Third Army crossover I have decided to get them for the now. I thought the art in this issue was very nice and although I am not familiar with Sepulveda's work I hope to see it again in the future.

This issue shows a pair of alien sisters who are both given as trophies to a tyrant named Cord. As he goes to take the (in his opinion) more attractive of the sisters the other (trying to protect her sister) offers herself instead. Cord not wanting to take second bests kills the other sister taking the better looking one with him. The surviving sister if full of grate rage which the Red Lantern Corps detect and follow to find the source. Whilst this the sister escapes but Cord catches up with her just before the Red Lanterns arrive. The Red Lanterns attack the tribe but are interrupted by the Third Army who are trying to rid the universe of all emotion starting with all the corps'.

I actually liked this issue very much. I had heard bad things about the last couple of issues but this issue was actually very good. I liked this issue cause it had a lot of emotion and a lot of violence in it. It was also nice to see the Third Army actually in action as so far they have only made a brief appearance in the crossover so far, and have been more of a tease for the following issues of each series, so it was nice to actually see them involved for a change. I also liked how the Red Lanterns are able to detect rage throughout the universe and follow it to the source. This has probably been shown in previous issues but as a new read who only knows about the Red Lanterns through the main Green Lantern series it was nice to see how they find people who have a burst of powerful rage inside.

Final verdict. This was a brilliant issue and crossover wise the best opening issue to any involved in the crossover. I would highly recommend this issue and if the series keeps up this kind of quality I might keep getting it even when the crossover's over.

    Rating: 4/5

Finally! Things are back on track. 0

As those of you who’re following this series know, the past two issues have been atrocious. :/ Sorry, I had to do that you. In fact, things seemed to get pretty derailed around issue six when we were introduced to the first human Red Lantern who I couldn’t care less about. It was nice to see the series get back to its roots-namely how the Red Lantern Corps’ numbers increase and just how horribly diverse yet similar its members’ backgrounds are.The story opens with a victimized pair of alien sist...
