I had fun with the Tarot bit why not do it again with MG

In the last issue I talked about Jade's issue being a connection to the Hangman tarot card.  There are two possible cards to talk about in this issue.  The easier of the two is the Devil card, simple explanation is temptations.  Ike gets tempted by sinful things.  The harder to explain of the two possible cared is Judgement (or some spelling has it Judgment).  Judgement is the card before the world and the world summed up is completion.  If Ike is at the stage of "Judgement" then he must "Decision"  which may lead to his "Salvation". This could be a "New beginning" with "Hope" for "Redemption".  I quoted words because those are some words associated with the Judgement card.  Another words associations are:
    • Judgment ----- Rebirth ----- Inner Calling ----- Absolution
    • Restart ----- Accepting past mistakes/actions ----- Release
    • Forgiveness ----- End of repression ----- Reconciliation ----- Renewal
The end of the issue suggests to me that it is now up to Ike to find judement on a person sentenced to "death".  Death in the Tarot normally suggests "Change" and that is what will happen,  if Ike kills, things change.  So his "Judgement" will lead to "Release".  No matter the choice Ike is now looking at his past Mistakes and/or actions and needs to accept them.

I love what Nick Spencer is doing with Morning Glories, it might be the most regular "popular" monthly I can review where I can explore these metaphysical phenomenon.  If Nick Spencer is not a familiar with the Tarot I would be shocked, because I have a feeling he is like me and uses the deck to stir creativity.

    I hope this review helped.

Cover I was not so excited for this issue because I am not a big Ike fan and I know that this would be the issue we would see him the most. Story We learn a little bit how Ike and how he killed his father or did he? Best Part Morning Glories is one of my favorite series and with every Morning Glories issue we learn a little bit more about the mystery in this series. This issue had some OMG moments. The moment I think was most OMG for me was when we found out that Ike’s father was not...

The Good: I hate asshole characters. I don't count Damien because he's got a lot of character development, and he's not a true asshole. He has a definite soft spot, and has other redeeming factors. But I do hate Tony Stark. And Wolverine. Ok, at the moment I can't think of any good examples of characters who display Ike's level of sheer assholery. By all rights I should hate him. But I don't. Ever since his first scene in issue #1 I've loved the guy. (In a purely platonic fashion I might add.) T...
