    Ass Kicked

I was very anxious towards watching this flick, 'cause "Kick Ass" was a well written comic book, with good ambientation (the narrative, dialogues, scenario etc.), with an interesting story of a nerd/geek/lame and wuss student 14 years old, named Dave who, trying to become a super heroe, puts on a costume/spandex and goes fighting thugs and crime, he, who never had put his foot on a gym, never worked out before in his life, as you guys well know (I´m assuming that a good percentage of folks here have read the comic book). Giving a kid some moves on a comic book is something (the creative liberty in comics are way bigger and, for that, more explored than in movies - usually, when transporting the material thourgh different media, you loose some of the action, the fighting moves, but on this movie, and that´s mostly the good reason for a I´d liked it, the director and production did a great job), giving this same kid punches and kicks on a big screen is totally different. And on this point I think the movie is a big hit (inclunding Big Daddy and Hit Girl), because allowed the viewers to impersonate into character, and feel the same emotions that Dave felt, the rush of being a super hero without no skills and super powers and, despite all that, fight crime and stand up for some values (saving people, but he - Dave - was a bit of a nasistic person). As the concept of adaptting the story for the big screen, meaning the above written, I think the movie was excellent, all the scenarious, the conversations between Dave and his friends, the encounters with Big Daddy and Hit Girl, the action scenes (his first atempt as a super heroe, getting his ass kicked and run over by a car, the apartment scene) and the hilarious/concern relationship of Big Daddy and Hit Girl. What I didn´t like at all was: 1) probably not the most "A class bandits" in the movie, I think their lines weren´t the best and it seemed like an cheaper immitation of Punisher´s italian gangster enemies; 2) the last 15/20 minutes (the last action scene, including the way Big Daddy is killed - after Hit Girl enter the room, the fighting action sequal was so-so and I blame that for the unnecessary changes in the original story); 3) the background story of Big Daddy and Hit Girl (the writters didn´t have to changed their origin, it seemed to me that they only did it to give Big Daddy a little more respect, like, it´s not as a nonsense as a pretend to be super heroe, like Kick Ass, but that too was a good thing in the comic and reflected on the story); 4) didn´t like the actor who played Red Mist. Overall was a nice movie to watch, but there was some flaws that tainted the final product, but the shooting was good, the directing and the photography. Enjoy

I was one of the few people lucky enough to be able to see the pre-screening of Kick Ass on the 29th of March. So does this movie truly kick ass , my opinion yes this movie definitely kicks ass. First off the cast is excellent. The best of them all was Aaron Johnson as Kick Ass himself and Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl. These two really did a great job of their characters and made them very enjoyable to watch that being said Nicolas Cage was ok as Big Daddy and certainly gave a new look to the charac...

Great Adaptation of a Wonderful Series 0

With Kick-Ass 2 hitting cinemas a few days ago I decided to re-watch the first film prior to seeing the new one, as having loved the comics from Mark Millar, I'm hoping that Kick-Ass 2 lives up to expectations, getting into the mood with this film.PlotSPOILER FREEWhen David Lizewski wonders why no one has ever tried to become a superhero, he himself becomes one in the form of Kick-Ass, but when Big Daddy, and Hit-Girl cause trouble for Frank D'Amico, D'Amico targets Kick-Ass. blaming him for his...
