Sea Of Mediocrity
Stop me if you heard this one, "Jonah hex walks out of a bar" okay, that is a bad attempt at humor, but it does begin the issue. A terminally injured black man grabs Hex as he is exiting a bar. The man tells Hex that a family in the swamp killed him, but are still holding his family.
You know, I actually dropped this title at issue twelve or thirteen. Rereading them so I can review them here, I was beginning to wonder why. After reading this issue, I wonder no longer. The art is barely passable. An incredibly regrettable step down from previous issues. It is cartoonish, that does not fit the grittiness of the story at all. It ends up drowning this book in a sea of medicrity previously unknown to the series.
