The Iron Knight
The metaphor embedded in this story is built under such a solid foundation, that I still don´t know how much of it is just an imagination of Joe, trying to cope with his great pain of losing his father (thus the comparison of him as the great Iron Knight, someone that Joe was penciling in the first issue), or indeed this is the collision of two worlds and everything that´s happening in Joe´s house is resonating in this fantasy world - in my heart I know it´s his hypoglicemia that´s doing everything, but there´s something about the way that Morrison wove this tale that´s keeping me with this day dream that perhpas there´s this fantasy world too - this issue was fantastic because of the repercussions in it, since the dialogues were a little weak, but the action and the spectacular/amazing art of Sean Murphy - the way the creative team envisioned the characters, the story behind the places Joe and Chakk explore, the way they (creators) divide the scenes of what´s happening in Joe´s house and what´s happening in the fantasy world, all of that is undoubtedbly is the fruit of Murphy´s perfetct grasp of this series, his art makes me euphoric, panel by panel I´m amazed by it - this continues to be a fantastic series and now, after what happened in thsi issue, I´m hoping that Joe will step up and do some serious damage to the Death King. Highly recommended!
