- attempted to trick sasuke into trying to slaughter innocent konoha citizens in cold blood, for power.

- committed mass illegal unnecessary genocide on a righteous rebellion that tried to stop the corrupt ruling class, lied about it right to everyones face, and made sure danzo/elders got away with it scot free

- allowed danzo to get away with attacking and mutilating shisui

- let danzo continue brainwashing and murdering his own people in order to create emotionless drones who worship him

- sold out konoha by letting obito inside of its own borders via making an illegal treasonous deal with him

- part of the deal with obito was attempting to leave everywhere and everyone but konoha to be slaughtered

- threatened to commit high treason against konoha and sell national secrets to its enemies

- betrayed tsunade and committed high treason by refusing to inform her of uchiha genocide/national secrets

- tortured kakashi into a coma for no reason other than to make kakashi suffer. then ordered kakashi's attempted murder at kisame's hand, leaving konoha without one of its top fighters for weeks.

- attempted to capture and kill naruto

- betrayed mankind and attempted to start a catastrophic world war by aiding in the murders of 6 other innocent jinchurikis, ripped out weapons of mass destruction from their bodies and sealed them into a statue only controlled by rinnegan

- psychologically tortured naruto for getting in his way, even to the point of naruto crying horrified tears

- attempted to have gai and naruto murdered by giving up information on them to akatsuki

- refused to tell anyone anything about akatsuki and was willing to kill kakashi to see nothing about them gets out

- tried to trick sasuke into murdering his own blood on false pretenses and beat him almost to death which would ensure sauskes own death at obito or kisame's hands.

- assuming obito inexplicably spares sasuke, the backup plan was to permanently erase sasukes mind and enslave him to serve danzo for eternity.

- left anko to die, knowing full well kabuto had her.

- did absolutely nothing to even try to stop yagura, hanzo, obito, nagato, danzo, homura or koharu and as a result allowed countless to die

he betrayed sasuke, he betrayed konoha, he betrayed everything he was raised to believe and all the laws of the nation he claimed to support

why would sasuke return to konoha after declaring them all worthless weaklings and murdering their jin in cold blood painfully? thats the absolute last thing he'd do. extremely suicidal.

kakashi and sakura wouldnt stop until they had sauskes head on a spike. so spare me this impossibility. and even if he doesn't then danzo will kill sasuke on sight. obito also had a plan to kill or corrupt whoever won itachi vs sasuke. sasuke has no way of getting back to konoha alive.

He used Tsukuyomi on Sasuke to replay that day so that Sasuke would hate him more and gain more more power out of his hatred and desire to kill Itachi.

Well, that's what happens when you make drastic changes to a character simply because he's popular. I think it's painfully obvious that none of this was planned until after part 2 was well underway. Itachi was always supposed to be just a villain but he grew too popular and changes were made. Only thing is, Kishi went all out in making him a villain so any excuse/explanation would be as lame as what we got.

Like, imagine if Toriyama suddenly decided to make Frieza a sympathetic hero at the end of the namek saga,
