I´m not going into details yet, I´m just going to say, great leads, great tension building, great OST, great cinematography...

Seems that it wasn´t a huge hit in box office for obvious reasons (rated R, mexican cartels stuff)

But, yeah, for those who saw it, what´s your opinion?

If I had seen more movies then yes but I haven't even seen 5 movies that were originally released this year so it's automatically there.

While there was plenty of good things going for it some of the things prevented me from loving it.

@thesilentripper: One of the most cliched movies I've ever seen in my life, and pretty boring. Also a few things made no sense.

why cliched? the bad guys won, our "hero" ended bad, It was realistic if anything, I wouldn´t say cliched.

But hey, different tastes I guess.

@thesilentripper: All of the things you mentioned are cliche for a dark gritty crime movie. One of the things I didn't like about it was it couldn't decide whether to be realistic or not.

Haven't seen it, meaning it ties with almost every movie of the year for 5th place.

While I don´t agree I think expectations are a factor here.

I was expecting a more Hollywoodesque film, with big action shootouts, etc and some twists

but It wasn´t , it was a very straightforward story, you can feel some of the characters are off really quickly.

and then again, maybe for you that was cliche. for me it was just reallity based.

I also think the movie could have used 20 min more, rather than that, everything else was spot on (IMO) , the cinematography, the ost, the leads, as I said before.

Yup it is. Loved the moral grey that it forced the audience to be in. There is never a right answer in all the scenarios.

I want to see Ex Machina, I like Oscar Isaac a lot.

And you should. Very paranoid, thought provoking movie. I was unsettled all the way through.
