So here's the deal. There's this really cute girl who works at the library. I plucked up the courage to talk to her. We had small talk two separate times and I added her on Facebook.

I asked her out and she said she said no, on the count of us only meeting in person twice.

So, should I keep pursuing this, or does she seem uninterested?

@voorhees100: Wait. So you met her in person twice, then tried to ask her out over facebook? Fail... Should have asked her out for coffee or something, now you look like a weirdo.

@voorhees100: Dude, DO NOT come here for dating advice. A lot of people here are bitter and/or pessimistic, or will use this as a chance to troll you.

Ask a lady friend! If they're a friend, they won't mind advice.

All in all, talking twice is WAAAAAY too fast to be asking someone out. Let it flow, let it build naturally. You'll see whether or not she's interested, and you might find yourself disinterested as well.

SERIOUSLY. Don't just have two more conversations and ask her out again. If she's not interested (And she won't be), she will not be willing to keep talking to you.

So yeah, keep talking to her. Just stop trying to get into her pants before she's made up her mind that she wants you in there.

Drop it. She said no then you're out of luck. If she's your soulmate or whatever you've convinced youself of, disappear for a couple of months and show up to the library with a fine as hell friend or relative. She'll think if that girl is spending time with you you must be doing something right. If she tries to get your attention pretend you don't remember her, but don't be dick about it. If you keep your cool you'll probably get her number and a date. From there you're on your own.

My advice is don't ask for dating advice on a comic book website unless your girlfriend is a supervillain.

You messed up with asking her out on Facebook. I wouldn't have even added her until I at least got her number. I say you leave it alone for now. If she wants to talk to you she'll approach you. Come on too strong and you might creep her out and end up being a story she tells her friends over coffee

So, you didn't ask her out in person? You know its harder for people to say no to a person when you're right there looking them in the eye lol

But no, when you say you "asked her out", what do you mean? What did you say?

Ask her if she would be ok with going out once you get to know each other better. If yes, keep talking to her and get to know her. If no, respect her wishes and move on.

I think you should show her this thread. It will show her how much you care for her and it won't be super creepy at all.

Seriously. I'd forget she exists. When a girl says no, it doesn't mean try harder, it means NO. You're just going to creep her out, and rightfully so.

If she said no then she is not interested and using only meeting a couple times in person as a excuse. Could keep on pursuing it if you want, might get somewhere, but it is probably easier to move on and find someone else.

It is easier said than done but forget her. It is over. It happens. Be friends with her if you'd like but it isn't going to happen. You should talk to as many women as you can to build your confidence.

I. You should always lead.

II. Keep it casual, always.

III. Slow and steady, always. (+)

Just keep it friendly. You might have been moving too fast. You should have asked for her phone number first, and went from there, rather than asking her out on facebook (that can be huge no-no).

Like TParks said, when she says no, she means no....

I love the go-to lazy response on here. "Don't ask for advice on comic vine". Yeah, 100% of us are just loser nerds that can't do anything right or possibly give unique or helpful perspectives. The fact that we have comic vine accounts means that most of us failed at life or with women and now will die alone.

I'd say keep talking to her and getting to know her. Maybe eventually ask her to just hang out or do something that doesn't have the pressure of a date, but what do I know? I've got a comic vine account after all.

I would just give up if I were you. But that's just me.....

  1. You rushed her, take it easy. Have more conversations with her, get to know her better.
  2. Never NEVER NEVER ask any girl out through facebook. Ask her in person, take her to a movie, maybe a restaurant.
  3. If she's pretty, she's most likely taken.....(joking) sorta. Anyways, keep your cool, be funny, have confidence, and you'll be fine.

There are some good answers here.

It all depends. If you asked her out over Facebook your chances are slim to none and you should probably move on. Take it as knowledge for next time

@serpinethegreen: Yeah, it's kind of annoying. It's called 'off-topic' for a reason. Everything we talk about doesn't have to be about comics 150% of the time. It's a nice community with tons of differing opinions.

Here's a question. If OP was Ryan Gosling, would the library chick be like: "Uhhh, sorry, I've only talked to you like twice."

Nah, she'd be like: "Heck yeah I want to go out with you. Make me your wife."

Women have their mates predetermined.

TL;DR give up on the girl of your dreams, OP. Never try to be happy again pls.

Love the logic here. "Urgent need of dating advice, quick! To comicvine"
