Do a crime or have a crime done to you?

I've done a crime before so....

Well, if it is preserving my own life....in a way it is self defense

Well I mean like say I was a magician and I was like I'll let you go if you kill this innocent little kid. I mean that exact scenario is obviously impossible but it's the moral dilemma that I'm focusing on.

The question presented doesn't make sense.

But what happens if I don't? I remain imprisoned? It still is a form of self defense, it becomes my life or theirs.

Ok but usually when we describe killing in self-defense, we don't mean literally defending yourself per se, just killing an attacker who was attacking you. The little girl isn't the attacker, I am. But you can't kill me because I'm a wizard. The situation is designed to be unfair to you both. Then the question becomes, whose life is more important to you. And obviously the implications of that choice.

It depends on the crime and person. But I guess more often than not, I'd have a crime done to me. In that scenario you provided, I'd take the football team hurting me. I couldn't hurt a little girl.

@ms-lola: Go back and read. The question makes clear sense. It was gonna be something like would you rather rape or be raped, murder or be murdered ect. but I wanted something more broad.

@immovableray: Still isn't clear. Hurt a little girl or get beaten up by a football team? Kill someone but be maybe killed? Or held captive? Or something?

Rape or be raped, kill or be killed but in a more broad sense? How so? In what way can it be more "broad"?

Not sure what you are asking but I would do a crime to protect/save myself/to prevent something from happening to me

I would do whatever to save myself. However if it requires killing a child, then I would probably die. If it is someone my own age, eh sucks for them.

I'd rather be a victim of a crime then be responsible for the crime.

I still don't see why this isn't a simple matter of self defence.

If I had to shove over a girl to escape an angry (American?) football team then yes I'd do it.

Can I reverse it so that if I don't punch a football team, a little girl beats me up? Because so could probably deal with that.
