So i was watching this scene and i was thinking about how deep and emotional, if this was live action scene in a movie for spiderman. Imagine audience going into theatres thinking peter parker is going to save the day and come out unscathed only to have a WTF moment when he takes his own life to save the world.
Would you like a spiderman movie where Spiderman commits suicide?
It's the ultimate decision for a hero, it would be so intense. If done right, it would be incredible.
No, Spider-Man isn't supposed to be that dark. Also there's no way in hell either Disney or Sony would make a movie where Spider-man kills himself.
My first thought was no, and then I thought about it for awhile. I thought. And I thought. And then I thought about all the children in the theaters screaming and crying. And by children, I thought of the man-children who cried about Superman in Man of Steel. It was quite tempting to change my answer, but I still thought no.
What I'd like is a married mature Spider-man. I think audiences would respond better to that.

Spider-man is all about learning to accept and bear responsibility and suicide is the ultimate abdication of responsibility (even if it has short term benefits like saving someone's life...how much more good could Spider-man have done if he didn't sacrifice himself for that one person's sake?*), so I think it would send a mixed message.
* The sacrifice is more reasonable if the whole world or something else large-scale is at stake, but turning Spider-man into a Christ-like saviour figure seems like a gross departure from the idea that he's just an ordinary Joe trying to be a good man.
I don't really think anyone is reading the OP, obviously the title is terribly phrased but the question is legitimate, asking if people would want to see Spider-Man sacrifice himself at the end of a Spider-Man movie.

This.
And to that question I would say yeah if done right it could be really good.
Suicide != self sacrifice, op just chose the worst title ever.
look at that, we've got a programmer here lol
