Would it be easy to replace Cara Dune with a new and better female character?

They don't even need to make a new character, they could just give Fennec Shand a bigger role. She was always the more interesting of the two anyway. Problem solved.

She's a great character

Still, it shouldn't be that hard to make a better character and find a better actress.

Presumably the next season will focus heavily on Bo Katan

Absolutely. She wasn’t that engaging as an actress. She was just unique (body type and character physicality) as a female heroine, so she developed a fandom. There are far better actresses who could fill the same role.

Looking at Pascal joining HBO’s Last of Us adaptation and the Book of Fett being the next from the franchise, I think there’s a good chance Disney will reboot the Mandalorian with a new lead and a new story arch. Maybe the return of Sabine Wren or maybe someone entirely new and original.

@Penguin-Dust: I don't think Pascal as Joel would clash much with his commitment to Mandalorian, he mostly does the voice in Mando, it's mostly stunt guys in the costume.
