The Man of Steel Film

Is anyone excited for this film?

Anyone have thoughts on plot, characters, etc?

I'm curious to see what it has to offer, still too early to tell. Once I see the first teaser or trailer I'll see if my level of excitement goes up or not. He looks the part, I feel, but then again so did Brandon Routh. We'll see. I like the casting choices of Michael Shannon for General Zod and Russell Crowe for Jor-El, I felt like those were very interesting decisions.

Amy Adams is Lois Lane: I like this

Damn right I'm excited. Superman needs a huge movie makeover to compete with the likes of Iron Man or Captain America.

I'm extremely happy about the cast, and having Snyder and Nolan behind it gives me hope.

I hate Zack Snyder, but I will with hold judgement until I see a trailer

yes, it's the film i'm been looking forward too the most.

I am excited for this movie. Seriously, Superman needs to have a good movie, the last good Superman movie was like Superman II and that came out almost 20 years ago. I can't wait to watch a trailer, I'm seriously more excited for this than Dark Knight Rises :P

I don't mind Zack Snyder; I think he did fine with Watchmen. But I don't know if his look is the right look for the movie. From what I've seen, I like the casting. And the fact that Nolan (I believe) is partially involved in the writing, I have hope for this movie. I really, really want it to be good.
 
The only remaining factor is who the villain is. That could make or break the movie for me right there.

I'm sorry but I have to say this..

Lex Luthor is the villain and the climax of the film is when he steals 40 cakes because, that's terrible.

Well, there is some new information out with spoilers this week. But i won't post it, just google 'call sheet man of steel' if you want to know =)

I'd love an original Superman movie - this is just a remake of Superman II! That said, that was a great movie done before today's FX possibilities, so this could be great.

I'd pay a thousand dollars to see Superman punched into Gotham and while the other two are after Supes, Batman saves him by taking down Zod!

Laurence Fishburne as Perry White...
 
I don't see it. Maybe it's because my exposure to him is very limited (*cough* Matrix *cough*), but I would have much preferred him as Lex. He seems much more like the wise, intelligent, calculating type. And Perry White... is not. Mind you I don't want Lex Luthor anywhere near this movie, but still. I feel like Lex suits him more.
 
Actually, it appears Zod will be in this movie - whether just in the beginning or as a main villain, I do not know. But the guy they chose... eh.... not seeing it.

Zod is a terrible villain, but other than that minor hiccough, I cannot wait for this film. Everything so far has been a brilliant decision (except for Zod, though even that is understandable).

@JediXMan: If Laurence Fishbourne is Perry White, I won't believe that he won't know Clark's identity, There's no way you have Morpheus in your film and have him completely oblivious to the fact clark kent is superman.

That's why I think Lex is a better fit. Even if he knows, he's the kind of villain who won't find satisfaction in revealing it.
