At least Starlin retconned it in Infinity Abyss and Dan Jurgens hasn't touched Thanos since that story.

But LOL! I miss Thor's Shakespeare speak.

Considering who the Designate is, and that she is the source of Desak's power, that's hardly an issue.

Jurgens' stories on Thor were nicely crafted but his dialogue is as stilted as it could had possibly been.

@mar-vell92: I don't think it's any worse than Waid's characterization of Thanos in Ka-Zar.

@morpheus_: Starlin retconned that too in Abyss. After Infinity Gauntlet Thanos was no longer a genocidal villain Obsessed with mystical macguffins. Waid and Jurgens regressed Thanos back into that type of villain while also making him less smart and more brutish.

@mar-vell92: He also retconned the X-Man 1998 Annual and Celestial Quest, probably more that I forget.

And Thanos regressed again post-Annihilation and Thanos #1-12, in Thanos Imperative. Even in powerful portrayals (Infinity), he seemed more of a brute than someone whose intellect is supposed to dwarf even the likes of Richards and Doom.
