Can you name some double standard in comics that are related to what gender that character has? Something that if a woman does it, everyone goes crazy and calls her slut or other insult, but when a man does it, no one really thinks about it?

It can also be the other way around.

I and I'd say 99.9% of people have no problem with male characters being drawn with perfect bodies and physiques. Or if they're drawn in a certain position like Spider-Man all spread out. But if a female character is drawn fitting the standards of your average male character. Well then everyone loses their minds.

The famous Spider-Woman drawn by Milo Manara.

Everyone calls it extremely sexualized even though Spider-Man's ass has even more detail in his covers.

Ugh some feminists piss me off.

Batman gets a bunch of girls, he's a "playa". When it's vice versa, the woman is a whore.

@dboyrules2011: cuz a man that gets a lot of women needs good looks, has to be smooth, smart, funny, rich and has to know what they are doing and it takes work. Women who sleep with a bunch of men arent special theyre just hoes

When women ends relationships with men, it's because the guy is a jerk or did something wrong.

When the man does it, it's because it's for the best for both of them, or because HE is a jerk

Generally speaking a violent male character, will be considered violent both in-universe and by fans, but a violent female character doing the same things is rarely called up on it in-universe and will be considered a well rounded character by fans even if being violent/or strong as the people call it is her sole trait.

Male superheroes rarely fight female villains. As in ACTUALLY fight them in physical combat.

Female superheroes fights men a lot.

Showing some leg. No one Bats an eye when a female character's legs are bare from ankle to hip but Robin's old costume challenges everyone's sexuality. Yet spandex so tight that every bit of leg definition can be seen is fine.

Exhibitionist shaming. There are numerous in comic references where comic characters mock/question female character's costumes and their need to show of their bodies. Rarely do male characters get called out for wearing costumes that leave little to the imagination.

Implied homosexuality. Fans imply homosexuality whenever their is a close same gender relationship, though generally the male on male comments are derisive of the characters. In the actual comics, the women on women implications usually get teased/played with and the male on male are quickly buried once they've been pointed out.

All comics in truth set a unresonable standard for men woman can bitch about us doing it to them. yet look at

  • He-Man
  • Batman
  • Superman
  • Spiderman
  • Iron Man
  • Thor

Woman complain about comics and media in general setting a unrealistic standard of beauty and perfection for woman well i say this this He-man

No Caption Provided

If one guy on this site no infact on earth match up to the standards of any of the men i mentioned in physically strength looks and power i will accept the female argument of men using putting to much pressure to be physically beuatifull and perfect on woman.

Here's a good one:

Male superheroes often have a laundry list of normal women they date: Lois Lane, Jane Foster, Gwen Stacy, MJ Watson, Pepper Potts, Vicky Vale, Iris West, Moira McTaggert, Betty Ross.

However, it's not as interesting when a super powered woman dates a normal dude, so they more often than not go out with other as famous or more famous superheroes. Jessica Jones? Luke Cage. She-Hulk? Juggernaut or Stark or Hercules. Storm? Black Panther or Wolverine or Forge. Black Widow? Hawkeye or Winter Soldier. Batgirl? Robin. Wonder girl? Superboy. Black Canary? Green Arrow. Captain Marvel? Mar-Vell or Spider-Man or stark in Ultimates.

When has an enduring story arc ever happened when A super woman date a non-heroic dude that actually lasted? Wonder Woman Steve Trevor? Of course, that wasn't compelling enough so they had to hook her up with Superman. And... and...............

@havenless: I think it's because they are afraid to imply that a female hero NEEDS a boyfriend
