Best Comic Covers of the Week: 4/19/13

Welcome to another rousing addition of Best Comic Covers of the Week where we show you which covers get the 10 point achievement for awesomeness. Below you'll find a few of the covers that enthralled us, and let us know what you think. Was there a cover you saw that you loved that we missed out on? Then post it in the comment section below!

The art team of Brett Booth (pencils), Norm Rapmund (inks), and Andrew Dalhouse (colors) takes over interior artwork with issue #19 of NIGHTWING, and they give you a little taste of what you can expect here in this cover. The cover is eye catching and very interesting and the gatefold is a bit of a surprise.

The "C" cover of this month's issue of THE SHADOW: YEAR ONE was drawn by Chris Samnee, with Matt Wagner. It's a brilliant mixture of complexity and simplicity, all in one.

It may be a bit hard to tell, but this is actually the cover to AGE OF ULTRON #6, drawn by part-interior artist Carlos Pacheco. We had no idea that Wolverine hated this copy of AVENGERS #42 so much that he had to destroy it.

Who likes red? Hopefully, you all do since we thought the cover to THUNDERBOLTS #8 was one of the best this week. This crimson-covered issue was crafted by none other than Julian Totino Tedesco, who has drawn all of the covers for this series. The style for these covers is incredibly cool, and we can't wait to see what he comes up with next.

Eight of the nine covers of X-MEN LEGACY have been drawn by Michael Del Mundo, and they are stand-out covers on the shelves. Here we get a look into Legion's brain to see what makes him so dang powerful.

Finally, this week, we have X-O MANOWAR #12 which was beautifully put together by Marko Djurdjevic. We loved this shot of Aric going up against a member of the Vine as Aric wages war on the planet Loam. This is one killer piece of art.

I bought that Shadow cover. It was just too awesome. I also love the Avenger cover and I so want to get those throw back ones, but they're a little pricy.

One of my picks:

I love how her costume just seems to melt away.

Although I don't get the comics I thought these covers looked great!

I understand art is subjective, but what exactly is complex about this cover? I can draw better than that!

The rest are nice with XO manowar getting my vote as well as Batwoman and DD:End of Days

Don't like any of those covers much except XMEn Legacy.

Not a huge JRJR fan but this cover is just badass. Loving the sci-fi weirdness/ delicious awesomeness of Remender's Captain America

This Cable and X-Force cover is also flippin' sweet. I love Salvador Larocca's art, especially in Invincible Iron Man. This cover caught my attention and I subsequently went and checked out Cable & X-Force #1. Seems like it shaped out into a good series.

Don't know why but that Five Ghosts cover is giving me serious Deja Vu. Probably some unconscious "Silence of the Lambs"/"Venture Bros." thing.

What comic cover lurks in the hearts of men this week? Oh I think we all know..just like he does...

It's a pretty simple cover, I just like the idea of seeing the original costume along with his regular one. It's simple but conveys very well what's going on. I think Chris Samnee is my favorite artist
