Year One. Generally I would choose any of Frank Miller's Daredevil over his Batman, but The Man Without Fear was the worst Daredevil story he wrote imo. I preferred the original characterization of Elektra in Daredevil #168 over the impulsive slutty characterization from Man Without Fear.

Absolutely agreed. Miller already took his crack at Daredevil's origin story back in his 80s run, why did he feel a desire to retcon himself? It's not as if the book brought anything radically new; it was kind of boring actually. And of course the Netflix show chose to base Elektra off of this randomly insane version, rather than Miller's original version who was much more compelling.
Daredevil by far. Batman: Year One is horribly overrated. The Man Without Fear is one of my favourite origin books.

If the horrendously boring Man Without Fear is one of your favorite origin books, I can't imagine how much you would love Miller's original take on Matt's origin back in his 80s run because that was actually good.
@nickzambuto: I've read that and also thought it was great. Besides from Elektra, what don't you like about it?
And I meant actual standalone origin stories not part of a running series.
@nickzambuto: And Batman: Year One is just average. What origin books do you prefer to these two? To be honest, there aren't that many in competition.

It was boring, Matt didn't do anything or develop or learn anything, the art was average but not befitting for a book that should have been seminal, nothing happened, none of the things I like about Daredevil stories was present, it's just a big nothing.
I don't love Year One either but at least it had a lot of cool elements that added immensely to the Batman lore. Year One actually contributed something. TMWF contributed a bullet timing feat.
@nickzambuto: Really? I really love Romita's art. Probably the biggest factor that encouraged me to love TMWF.
Both of these came out after Frank Miller started going down hill and seemed to start doing things for the sake of shock value instead of doing shocking things that fit the story. I think Year One was the better of the two, but both of them lacked the complexity and deep moments of his early writing.

I saw you on YouTube. Or at least, it was someone with the same avatar. I replied to your comment.

You're having the same conversation on two different sites?
@nickzambuto: It isn't me, I actually havent given my google accounts avatars. I'm curious tho, whats the argument about?

There is no argument, I just saw that avatar on YouTube and I thought it was you.
Year One was pretty good. It did feel odd that half of it was a Gordon story, but I liked how it built Batman's relationship with the Gotham police. It also felt like a nice update to Batman's original story. Man Without Fear did not have that felling. It retconed everything that Stan Lee did, and had almost no signs of the original origin left.
