SECRET WARS' Battleworld Expands

SECRET WARS is coming. Yesterday we saw the announcement that Haden Blackman would be writing a MASTER OF KUNG-FU mini-series taking place in the K'un Lun area of Battleworld.

This new Battleworld will consist of different dominions with different and possibly familiar versions of the characters we know. Some areas of the interactive map haven't had their names revealed. Today, Marvel announced some more areas.

The Marvel Universe is no more. There is now only Battleworld and Marvel.com is the only place where you will be able to learn about the building blocks of the new Marvel Universe.

Welcome to the Secret Wars Interactive Battleworld Map! Strange and Mysterious worlds from Marvel’s deep history continue to forge into the new landscape of the Marvel Universe – Battleworld – and Marvel’s Interactive map will guide fans through this strange new land.

Updated continuously until the start of Secret Wars, the interactive map features the most recent details of where these new dominions of Battleworld originated from.

• New Xandar

Anyways I'm hyped up for 2099, Hala Field, and New Xandar. Interested in who'll be involved in this mess.

@scavengerfist: The email and interactive map both say New Xander. I'm just going with what they tell me.

Though I'm not exceedingly hyped I'm interested in finding out how the stories will play out and connect with various realms.

I can't use the interactive map for some reason. I'm on my ipad currently.

I'm interested to see what the overall format is going to be like when all of the individual 'states' are revealed.

@scavengerfist: Looks like the map has been changed to New Xandar now. If you check out the map, there are some descriptions for the revealed locations. It says:

Hmm... Looks over Battleworld, we can see nations for K'un Lun, Higher Avalon/Captain Britain, and the House of M that all look intriguing to me. But out of these newly explained area I'd have to say I'm most excited for Hala Field and seeing what the Carol Corp looks like in full force.

To be honest, there will be king thor. If King thor will use the blade of the god butcher + mjölnir, then there will not be much left of battleworld....

Isn't it weird to name a place 2099 since it can't be year 2099 because time not being a factor anymore.

Also love New Quack City maybe a place for the most obscure and weirdest Marvel characters.

I assume Hala Field is going to be where Captain Marvel will be during Battle World.

But then again, I thought K'un Lun was going to be for Iron Fist but that was completely wrong

@mutant_god: based on something I just read I think it will be a separate title that we will get to explore but may not factor into the overall story, much like many of these worlds they are announcing.

I'm getting the impression that the main book will focus on the Ultimate and 616 story while the events on other worlds will feed into the main story, or just be fun side events so we know just how much of the Marvel Multiverse is being affected by this.

This and DC's Convergence look so bad it's not even funnny.

THi is proof that oen company has run out of idea's and the other on will do whatever to copy the other companies idea's even if they are bad.

Sorry to be so negative. i feel i have to voice my opinion about this and i will not be picking up a single.

Iknow because it's an event Comicvine will be more generous with the review scores. So ill know to trust my instinct on this one. Because everyone else is going to be bought into the hype.

I would hope this event fails only so both companies can realize to stop churning out event after event and actually start to have a creative process with original ideas for events

I have to check out those Marvel links. At least now I know the Secret Wars will last from May to December this year.
