is this fallout from Trial of Jean Grey?

I'm really liking that cover. Can't wait to pick this up. Anyone know if this will eventually crossover with the Star-Lord and Rocket Raccoon ongoings??

Gladiator vs Drax? Sold. No need for anything else.

Gladiator vs Drax? Sold. No need for anything else.

My thoughts exactly.

I've read a lot of the new Guardians series and frankly it hasn't done much for me. But if Nick Bradshaw is drawing it, I'll be reading it.

Tell me about the symbiote already you jerks!

Stop trying to add another book to my shelf!

It's so good but I came for the venom!!!

@micah: You think Kallark will take the bait?

#10 Posted by V_Scarlotte_Rose (6291 posts) - - Show Bio

Hmm. I thought Brian Michael Bendis promised that Captain Marvel would actually be in this one properly, unlike the previous three that she was on the cover of, but not in the issue(apart from a single non-dialogue page).

The solicit and preview doesn't seem to suggest she'll be here, but maybe she will.

Why is Drax challenging Kallark? He'd be oneshotted

#13 Posted by i_dont_like_comics (770 posts) - - Show Bio

@dondave: not really. drax killed thanos. he can take kallark. besides, kallark's powers are so inconsistent it could work.

Never really liked Bradshaw's art. But this looks like a vast improvement compared to his previous work. Couldn't stand him on Wolverine and the X-Men.

@v_scarlotte_rose: Well, nothing against her, but I kinda hope the day comes when the Guardians go without having guest characters every story arc...

I bet like the last 2 issues nouthing will happen and this is just filler

That's fair. If anything I'd prefer if she wasn't in it, as I'm not really interested in the team.

that art is so meh

#20 Posted by Rainja (364 posts) - - Show Bio

@murderpool: LOL, I feel you. Thats the only reason i am interested in this, Venom.I really look forward to bendis exploring the symbiotes origins some more or even make it a display a new ability or something.

#21 Posted by Ostyo (7878 posts) - - Show Bio

@v_scarlotte_rose: Well, I can't blame ya. You're lucky actually, the less she appears is the less Bendis can destroy her with his writing.

#22 Posted by Guardiandevil83 (5599 posts) - - Show Bio

@warlock360: Lol. His mohawk don't back down from nobody or nothin'.

I love GotG but Bendis is not good for them and the worst thing about it is he hangs on to a book like a tick

Groot: I'm Groot!

Drax: Gladiator, I challenge you!

Ive liked this book thusfar..

#27 Posted by micah (1381 posts) - - Show Bio

@micah: You think Kallark will take the bait?

Of course, his ego is too big to ignore a challenge.

#28 Edited by Guardiandevil83 (5599 posts) - - Show Bio

@micah: Then there will have to be rules set up. No blitzing, or Heat-vision for Gladiator. If they keep it purely hand to hand...no, wait, doesn't Kallark have nano-second reactions?? Damn, Drax has balls.

Even with those rules and assuming Gladiator is holding back, Drax will still have one hell of a challenge to face. Hey would you mind following me?

#30 Posted by kilon (122 posts) - - Show Bio

drax is all like fight me you coward" GLADIATOR ".

#31 Posted by Guardiandevil83 (5599 posts) - - Show Bio

@kilon: This should be fun. Say what you want about Bendis, the dude can make an interesting comic, even if the story isn't that stellar.

I'm glad starlord is wearing his mask again because flash's face looks damn similar to peter's

Same here! Hoping we get to see more good stuff from Drax instead of him always being on the sidelines.

Not a huge fan of the art on the book these days...

Can somebody please explain to me what happened to Angela in Guardian of Galaxy, she seemed to have simply disapeard from the storyline and absolutely no explanation was given?????

I'm not a big fan of the art either.

@ostyo: From what I remember, he's not handled her too badly, most of the time anyway.

Maybe the guest stars thing is to try and get more people buying the series, to try and spread more hype for the film.

#37 Posted by Ostyo (7878 posts) - - Show Bio

@v_scarlotte_rose: That's good. I wish I could say the same the about Gamora.

Most likely, but if they just focused on writing the team like the awesome characters they are...

#38 Posted by V_Scarlotte_Rose (6291 posts) - - Show Bio

@ostyo: I'm not that familiar with her. Has she been changed a lot?

That would seem like the best way to write a comic.

#39 Posted by Ostyo (7878 posts) - - Show Bio

@v_scarlotte_rose: Well, it's like he writes her as a stereotype of what she's suppose to be in my opinion. She's tough, confident, independent, and a total bad ass. So that's exactly how he writes her, nothing really more then that, ya know? Plus, that whole Tony Stark bit... *shudders*

#40 Posted by Experio (16010 posts) - - Show Bio

The series is picking up a notch

#41 Edited by ShadowPro (1605 posts) - - Show Bio

again with not telling the symbiot origin, that has already lost its charm POOZERS!!!!!!

That was your first mistake...believing in Bendis.
