Magik vs Kuwabara

Lets say that Magik was just minding her own business when started having painful spasms. Since Limbo was absorbed into her, she teleported to it. There she met Kuwabara who accidentally came there because of his Dimensional Sword. He started fighting off the monsters of Limbo. Kuwabara, due to his high spiritual awareness sensed Magik's tainted soul. He found her but Magik was hurtng because apparently since his Dimensional Sword can cut through dimensions, he is cutting/hurting Magik herself. Kuwabara was attracted to her but Magik said:

"You fool, I will break you!"

Kuwabara gets mad in his typical way and challenges her to a fight.

Magik: *yawns* Cyclops was getting boring anyway. This will be nothing

Who would win in this fight?

Magik, the time and space teleporting, magic casting Ruler of Limbo with the demonic Darkchilde form, armed with her new Soulsword

Kazuma Kuwabara, the tough but foolish and stupid thug who has high spiritual awareness, superhuman strength and durability, and his spirit sword/dimensional sword. He can also manipulate his spirit energy into his punches and kicks.

According to the YuYu Hakusho manga, Kuwabara can teleport with his sword and the sword is so powerful, it can cut through dimensions and it can cut through basically anything, even space.He can also split it into two swords.

Illyana Rasputin is a powerful sorceress. She can turn into her Darkchilde form which makes her more powerful. Her magic is more powerful in Limbo and she ordered the demons and monster of Limbo to stay out of the fight because its just her and Kuwabara. I got this idea from Thor and Magik in A+X.

These are their feats. (Even though I already mentioned them on my first post).

Magik's feats:

• Stepping Discs: ability to mentally control "stepping discs", which allowed herself and others to teleport across interstellar distances or through time. The discs are part of a dimension known as Limbo. This dimension is specifically known alternately as "Demonic Limbo", "Limbo-Belasco", or "Otherplace". However, when Illyana mentally calls for a Stepping Disc she must use Limbo as a midway point before she can teleport to an alternate location. It is not known if she was genetically predetermined to travel through Limbo, or if she did so because, having been spirited there as a child, it was the alternate dimension she was instinctively aware of. Magik has succeeded in teleporting herself across continents, from one continent to another, and even interplanetary and intergalactic distances on occasion. Apparently, she can mentally scan Limbo while on Earth in order to locate whoever she wishes to teleport from Limbo down to her, on Earth.

Unlike most other teleporters, Magik could teleport through time as well as space. She has teleported moments, days or centuries into the past or future. Especially, early on, she had difficulty modulating this ability and would often inadvertently travel through time and space when intending to teleport only through space. Magik was told by Dr. Strange that she had potential for great feats of manipulating time on a wider scale.

• Sorcery: Magik is the sorceress supreme of her Limbo dimension. The extent of her powers there are all powerful and powerful demons of Limbo did not dare challenge her. Magik had access to Belasco's store of sorcerous knowledge. Magik's sorcery was a unique mix of black magic, that she learned from Belasco, and white magic, she was taught by an alternative-realityOroro Munroe. On one occasion, Magik was shown to have easily inhibited the powers of The Enchantress, while in Limbo, despite The Enchantress being a powerful sorceress in her own right. Magik is capable of casting binding spells, energy blasts, scrying, projecting an astral form, and other talents.

On Earth she is limited to Astral Projection, a Mystical Sense (ability to detect mystical presences), simple spells, and summoning her Soulsword.

Kuwabara's feats:

High Spirit Awareness (霊感, Reikan, literally translated as Spirit Intuition): As described by Genkai during the Chapter Black saga, Kuwabara's Spirit Awareness is unparalleled. His sister Shizuru, who has shown to possess similar talent in this area as well, may have more talent in this area if she ever bothered to refine it. It has yet to be said which sibling possesses greater talent in this area, but both have been shown to be extraordinarily talented in it. Though it was never confirmed if Shizuru is able to see ghosts like Kuwabara, it is believed that she can, as she was able to view an encrypted tape that Koenma sent to Yusuke, which detailed his mission to rescue Hiei's sister, Yukina (in the manga, this is confirmed, as she could see Yusuke's ghost as well sense his intentions). During the early part of the series, Kuwabara is stated as being able to hear and feel the presence of ghosts, but are only able to see them when asleep. As the series progresses, the usage and amount of his spiritual abilities and energy becomes stronger, enabling him to form increasingly powerful spiritual "swords" to fight his enemies. It seems to be that Kuwabara's energy only emerges at full power whenever he is close to death, in a very dangerous situation, or both; in the battle with Risho, Kuwabara was nearly beaten to death by his opponent because of his spiritual energy not working, but upon seeing Yukina his energy activated again and he was able to defeat Risho.

• Superhuman Physical Strength & Endurance: Kuwabara possesses raw physical strength to a superhuman degree, as seen in the Poltergeist Report movie where he defeated the demon god Majari with a single punch after tricking the apparition into exhausting his Demon Energy. This was also seen during his fight with Risho in the Dark Tournament, where he took the shinobi demon's strongest blows with very little Spirit Energy left in his body, and was able to keep getting up. Many times throughout the series he is shown to take the most brutal beatings out of all the main characters, yet continues to get up and fight on many occasions, such as with his fights with Byakko in the Demon World or his Dark Tournament battle with Rinku, where he left his opponent literally frightened at the sight of him standing. Kuwabara was able to withstand a kick from Rinku, which according to the latter was strong enough to break a person's neck.

• Brawler (with influences from Martial Arts)/Adaptable Weapons: Though Kuwabara is more of a brawler-type fighter who rushes in clumsily, he initially considers the greatest defense to be a good offense. In later battles he often wins (or at least counters) by using the versatility of his spirit blades, finding a unique application to it that would be most appropriate to the situation (i.e. bat to Rando, whip-sword to Rinku, swatter to Toguro). His high sixth sense rarely plays a role in his battles, though he has used it to avoid foes and sense danger. As the moral core of the team, he is more prone than Yusuke to become stronger when his friends and innocents are present or in danger, as those he cared about played a role in his victory over Risho.

Spirit Sword (霊剣, Rei Ken, Aura Sword in the Viz translation): This is Kuwabara's signature attack, where he creates a sword comprised only of his Spirit Energy. Its strength depends on how much energy Kuwabara focuses into it, such as during the anime version of the battle againstGokumonki, it breaks due to Kuwabara being afraid he'd hit Botan who was being held hostage if he used too much power. It is first used in the Genkai Tournament when Kuwabara uses a piece of a special spiritually-powerful wooden sword used by Musashi, his first opponent. Without his even being aware of it, the broken piece allowed Kuwabara to channel his energy into it, causing the spirit sword to emerge for the first time. After the tournament is over, Kuwabara does some training and learns how to manifest it at will, no longer needing the broken swordpiece's focusing power as a medium. Since Kuwabara is not trained as a swordsman, he lacks the grace of Hiei's sword strikes, and swings rather clumsily.

• Energy Deflection: He can use the sword to repel energy-based techniques by swinging it like a baseball bat. For some reason, it can be blocked by Hiei's sword. The most notable instance where this occurs is during Kuwabara's semi-final fight against Shorin, who has his own technique, Circles of Inferno, deflected back at him. In some video games, it can even reflect the Dragon of the Darkness Flame, so that Hiei can absorb it.

• Spirit Sword Javelin (伸びろ, 霊剣, Nobiro, Rei Ken, translates asSpirit Sword, Extend!; Aura Sword Extend in the Viz translation): Kuwabara's power seems to be derived from a form of materialization; the act of manifesting his spirit energy into the shape of a blade. After gaining full control, Kuwabara can increase the length of his sword at will. Later, after training with Kurama in preparation for the Dark Tournament, Kuwabara is able to bend and lengthen his sword at will (making it similar to a whip-sword or johyo). This attack enables him to attack his opponent from a distance (as seen in his fight with Rinku), and also act as a javelin or a pole vault in order to both leap great distances or survive falls from great heights (as seen in his fight with Byakko). In the English dub, Kuwabara activates this ability by saying, "Sword, get longer".

• Double Spirit Sword (霊剣二刀流, Rei Ken Nitōryū, translates asSpirit Sword Two Blade Style; Double Aura Sword in the Viz translation): During his training before the Dark Tournament under Kurama and Hiei, Kuwabara develops this technique, where he can materialize two swords at once, one for each hand. In the anime it is used only once, when he was fighting Rinku. In the manga, it was used twice, the first time being the manga version of the battle against the demons on the boat to the Dark Tournament. This occurance suggests the technique was developed by Kuwabara to augment his ability to defend against simultaneous attacks from multiple directions as well as to increase his offensive capability.

• Spiritual Strike: Kuwabara extends his Spirit Sword and uses his advanced Spirit Awareness to manipulate the weapon's flexibility so that it exhibits a type of tracking feature in order to hit its target. He first uses this attack on Rinku during the Dark Tournament.

• Spirit Sword Shards (霊手裏剣, Rei Shuriken, translates as Spirit Throwing Knives): This is a technique where Kuwabara produces small bolts of energy from his hands, similar to shuriken, and shoots the smaller spirit blades at the opponent. This can be considered Kuwabara's analogue of the Spirit Shotgun, since it is a multiple projectile attack, and weaker than the Spirit Sword.

• During the Poltergeist Movie, Kuwabara uses an attack in which he summons all his reiki to form a giant sword resembling a large column of spirit energy which he then strikes his opponent with. This is similar to Yusuke's Spirit Gun Mega as it is all of his remaining spirit energy focused into one final attack, and leaves him drained of spirit energy, causing him to resort to his fists after using it.

• Dimension Sword (次元刀, Jigen Tō, translates as Dimension Blade;Dimensional Sword in the Viz translation): An enhanced version of Kuwabara's Spirit Sword that enables him to literally cut through dimensional barriers and psychic territory. An immense energy is concentrated into his spirit sword, improving its strength tremendously. During the Chapter Black Saga, a period of time in which his spiritual awareness and abilities retreated and did not respond to him, his awareness had sensed the threat of Makai opening to Ningenkai and had refined themselves in order to manifest itself in this form. Initially, he had trouble summoning it and it would only appear in dire situations, but he eventually could summon it at will. This is a very rare ability that Sensui was looking for during the Chapter Black saga. Kuwabara first acquired this ability during his battle with Seaman, but wasn't able to manifest it at will until his final battle against Sensui. The Dimension Sword is also hinted at being the ultimate offensive power; as it can cleave space, it can theoretically cut through anything. This is supported by the fact that, while Sensui had no problems receiving any of Hiei's or Kurama's attacks, he actively had to avoid any attacks from Kuwabara's Dimension Sword.
• • In the manga, Kuwabara is seen using the Dimension Sword to halve distances, effectively making a shortcut in order to stop a terrorist attack on the Spirit World, suggesting an ability to generate a space-time tear as a type of wormhole. It also appears to be able to seal itself up afterwards, suggesting that this technique does not scar reality.

Magik in Limbo is too powerful. She recently bitch smacked Dormammu there.

Even though that Dormammu was like a weaker version in that issue. Even though, she turns into her Darkchylde form, Kuwabara can quickly adapt and find a way to damage her and of course, every action he takes, he is damaging her.

Is this just a pure sword fight? How powerful is this guy? Hell Lord level? Sky father level? Reading his powerset he doesn't seem all that versatile..If he is above Sky farther level he wins , if he isn't he would lose

Why was that a weaker version of Dormammu?

That's basically it. You say he can hurt the dimension itself (which hurts Magik) but how fast can the guy destroy the dimension? If it takes him awhile, Magik will easily win this fight.

All his attacks seem to be energy related too...Magik can manipulate all sorts of energy, from conventional to magical to spiritual (souls) can't she just manipulate his sword?

@lateralus: He doesn't destroy it, he just slices it. Like a sword does to a normal human. So if he touches her, she's cut in half and considering that he's an A-class demon level fighter....he's likely to speed blitz.

Kuwabara is one of the strongest humans in Yu Yu Hakuso. He has too many powers and he's superhuman at that.

Lets not forget that Kuwabara can deflect energy attacks. Obviously since Magik is channeling energies from Limbo/herself for her spells, it is obvious that Kuwabara can deflect them against her. But she might not be immune to them. Also, with his dimensional sword, Kuwabara can cut those demonic energy dragons in half. So whatever, she can spit out, Kuwabara can cut in half. Also, Magik cannot manipulate Kuwabara's sword. It is his sword made out of his own spiritual energy. And if Magik was at a distance, Kuwabara can just make his sword get longer and stab her with it. You know, with his energy javelin. Might as well make this a pure sword fight I think.

Actually, I think Magik's Soulsword would have an affect on his dimensional sword.

How so? Can you explain it to me?

What is the source of his powers? Magical, spiritual or somehow related to magic? If so he is dead, thanks to the Soulsword.

Otherwise, I can see Magik sending him to Limbo, depowering him or just teledismember him. She's evil, she'll do this as soon as she gets the chance.

It is spiritual. I do not think he can be depowered just by being banished to limbo. Maybe it would be like Magik vs Black Widow, where Magik says that if this was serious, BW could have died. But since the whole thing was a game, Magik was toying with her and BW was knocked out because of that.

• Mystic Right: The Soulsword is a physical manifestation of Magik’s magical powers as well as the limbo dimension she rules. As the Soulsword is the living embodiment of Illyana Rasputin, whomever owns the sword is considered to be the ruler of Limbo (Otherplace) just as Illyana once was. Only the ruler of Limbo can wield the sword and only the wielder of the sword can rule limbo.
• Strike the Supernatural: The Soulsword has been shown to only harm magical creatures or objects -- it rarely injures non-magical beings or items.
• Maim the Ethereal: Intangible and ethereal beings can also be struck, as Shadowcat painfully learned.
• Counter/Break Spell: When Magik uses the Soulsword to strike a person who is possessed, ensorcelled, or otherwise magically controlled or transformed the sword will be able to counter or break the spell.
• Stepping Disc Control: The Soulsword can be used to control Limbo's 'stepping discs.'
• Spell Sword: Jimaine has learned to 'draw' spells with the sword using the arcane symbols.
• Sword Summoning: Magik can store her Soulsword in nothingness and summon it whenever she desires.
• Summon Armor: It can also be used to summon a promethium battle armor around the wearer.
• Augment Magic: Any magic user who holds the Soulsword instantly has their mystic abilities augmented.
  
  These are the powers of the Soulsword thus far, IF his dimension sword is considered magical, her Soulsword will have a counterspell type effect on it. The problem is defining the term magical across different universes.....Kitty Pryde isn't magical, but it had an effect on her.

Like I just said. Kuwabara's sword is not magical, its spiritual. I do not think those traits you just listed will have an effect on Kuwabara.

Either way, Magik I believe still takes this because she shapes Limbo to her will. Quite frankly she can just impale him with the ground he stands on.

But Kuwabara has superhuman senses. He can just sense that she is about to do it.

He can just slice all of them with his Dimensional Sword. He has superhuman reflexes and superhuman speed.

Unless he has the ability to go intangible or bend like Reed Richards, there is no way he would survive an all out assault like that.

He can just cut a portal in mid air and jump into it and appear right behind Magik and stab her.

Magik can do the same things to him with a stepping disk

Isn't the spirit and the soul the same thing? Magik can suck out and manipulate souls.

and like @veitha and @lateralus said, She has so many options there (matter manip, healing, invisibility, earth control, tele-dismbering, flight, transmutation, illusions, even use the power cosmic, etc...the list goes on and on,) she is pretty much a reality warper. It's like saying this guy can beat Dormammu. If his more powerful then a Hell Lord then he does have a good chance of beating her, but looking at his powerset, it doesn't seem like he is on that level.

Magik has attacks that don't look like energy beams. Spells that you can't dodge. w/o any warning he can get turned into a frog.

Then I had to fight monsters and then it turns out that every step I took, I damaged her and then we got into a fight and then she called off all of the monsters and then she came out of nowhere and stab me and the next thing I know was..............................(blah blah blah blah blah).

I know I'm posting on an old thread here, but I couldn't resist. I don't know Magik, but I've read and re-read Yu Yu Hakusho tens of times over the decades so I'd consider myself pretty well versed in that universe. To take these wincon v wincon:

- Kuwabara has been shown able to increase his physical resistance to attacks to a point where attacks that could normally pierce through the entire body of a person can no longer even pierce his skin. See Dark tournament v Elder Toguro.

- I doubt this would work on Kuwabara, although I guess it depends on how strong her ability to do this is. He has been shown able to resist the effects of soul stealing demons before during the dark tournament while younger Toguro is fighting. Also, as a side note, in the YYH universe, the spirit and soul are different. The spirit is like a protective barrier of the soul - and Kuwabara's spirit is very powerful.

- As far as not being able to dodge, Kuwabara has precog abilities in spades. If something were likely to threaten his life there's a good chance he would sense it coming, and thus possibly be able to prevent having try to dodge at all. However, if the aforementioned frog ability did land, yeah okay - that would probably do him in. Especially if this can't be blocked by say, an ability to cut dimensions or an energy barrier, then this will get Kuwabara. Something like this happened when he was, admittedly, considerably weaker than the end of the series, and so lacked his dimension cutter and much of his spiritual power, but he did once lose to a curse that shrunk him to bug size.

So, here's a question: can Magik force people into her dimension? It sounds like the fight being in her dimension benefits her greatly. Kuwabara could easily cut his way out of it. If she can't force him back in, and instead followed him outside her dimension and the fight resumed, would any of her abilities wane enough to give Kuwa the edge?

Magik can force people into her dimension. Yup, she gets a massive amp in her dimension since she controls reality there. She can also seal dimensions. She can also counter pre cog abilities.
