I'm not exactly a Naruto expert, but didn't Itachi already have his way with Orochimaru via genjutsu?

Itachi wins handily. Anybody that doubts this is just delusional. He already got stomped by Itachi who, he was only there for to steal his eyes, and once he failed he left and leaked info about Akatsuki. He then decided that he was too powerful to forcefully take his body so he moved on to Sasuke.

Edit: maybe not. I didn’t read the OP fully. Under these conditions, with a year of prep and the fight starting so far away, I could see Orochimaru winning. Especially since he’s allowed to use Edo Tensei.

Itachi should take it. He's already shown Orochimaru is no match for him.

Orochimaru can do a lot with prep and if he does edo tensei Itachi will have trouble but he could use Shisui's MS to change somebody to his side.

Or just Yata Mirror and Totsuka Blade ftw.

Wtf is this, Orochimaru stomps, Itachi isn't beating Hashirama, Tobirama, Minato, Hiruzen and probably a dozen other Reanimations that Orochimaru could prepare in that time.

EDIT: On second thought, Hashirama wouldn't fight Itachi unless Itachi was a danger to the Leaf, and Hashirama is more than capable of escaping Orochimaru's control, regardless Orochimaru does still win, just a little harder now.
