Battle takes place in open field, 4 x 4 miles big.
Any kind of bending (one time feats, multiple uses of a skill).
Who wins and why?
I'll give it to Iroh II, I assume a high general could probably beat a prize fighter.
I agree....

Plus he had that badass flying feat, I got the impression he is a lot more powerful, even if he doesn't technically have more feats.
@rogueshadow: I did to. his lineage would further that notion too... considering his grandfather was firelord and his great uncle and great grandfather were some of the most powerful firebenders in history
I know some people here are probably giving Iroh Mark 2 the win over Mako because they don't like Mako but I actually agree with part of the reasoning.
Irohs is most likely better than Mako.but because of age and most importantly name, not lineage. There not going to honour Mako (original Iroh voice actor) with anything less than a badass.
@hyperlight: Plus his great, great, great, great [...I think] grandfather was the fricking Avatar! I hope Zuko has become a huge Iroh level badass, I like to think he did eventually become more powerful than Azula, not just because she was nuts, but because he was a late bloomer, like Naruto.
@rogueshadow: azula cracked so I doubt she got better lol. Azula was inherently more skilled than zuko but his determination, superior training, and mentorship, and peace of mind probably gave him the chance to be much better bender than his sister.
Well, Iroh II really hasn't had time to shine. It's a tough call.
Mako uses feats. it's super effective.
Mako 9/10.

This, although based on what little we've seen of him and his hype, it's probably a close fight.
Based on speculation and hype, Iroh II probably wins with mid difficulty: not a stomp or cakewalk, but nor particularly hard, either.
On actual feats, could go either way, really, tho Mako has more impressive feats, like actually beating a Red Lotus bender 1 on 1.

A half a decade later....
@cocacolaman: This is not okay.
Mako off of pure feats, Iroh II if involving the heavy speculation and hype.
Exactly. Given his instant lightning and being the grandson of the second lightning redirector (and the great-grandnephew of the first and grandnephew of the third), we can assume that Iroh Jr. can also redirect lightning. He also looks stronger, if that makes sense, plus was able to fly already in Season 1, whereas Mako got that in Season 3... but he barely has any screentime.
