Not is much is known about the past of the newest Ms. America or why she took up the name. Whether there is a connection between her and the original
Miss America or yet another girl calling herself
Ms. America whom is currently working with the Young Avengers remains to be seen.
Creation

Avengers: The Initiative Annual #1 (2008).

Liberteens
Like all the Liberteens, Ms. America resembles a member of the World War II
Liberty Legion, in her case the similarly named Miss America. She and her team fought against the villain known as Flag Smasher when he came to her hometown in order to destroy and ancient American artifact from the Civil War. Ms. America managed to beat Flag Smasher and saved the artifact. It is presumed that Ms. America fought against the Skrulls during the Secret Invasion when it turned out that on of her own teammates was a Skrull infiltrant.
Fear Itself: Youth in Revolt
Commander Steve Rogers informs Prodigy of the unknown meteors that have fallen from the heavens and mass panic is on the horizon. Rogers asks Prodigy to gather heroes on a volunteer basis to help keep the peace and lead a new Initiative where there is no forced conscription or registration. Prodigy agrees to become the leader of the new Initiative and most of the former Initiative members including Ms. America gather in Washington DC.

Super Strength: She is also superhuman strength.
