Most of the commentary I've seen on this series states Destruction's view that the Endless can leave their responsibilities without the function they represent falling apart is accurate, and would use the capture of Dream of the Endless as proof. Yet when Death left her job, she literally had the classic 'Death takes a holiday' pattern of death grinding to a halt in all forms across existence. Does this indicate that Death and Destiny are fundamentally unlike the other Endless?
