    The Story:

Shortly after the Siege of Asgard has ended, bitter allies Thor, Iron Man and Captain America find themselves lost in unknown terrain. They put aside their differences and unite together to make the journey home.

    My Thoughts:

This has to be one of the best mini-series I've ever read before. This was a great story of friendship, forgiveness and courage that was written by Marvel architect Brian Michael Bendis which takes place immediately after the events of Siege. One of the best parts about this comic is the focus on the bitter relationship between these three characters, particularly Iron Man and Captain America. Anyone who has kept up with Marvel for the past five or so years knows Iron Man and Captain America clashed in the Marvel event Civil War which ultimately led to Captain America's death. That tension is still present here and is felt throughout this story. Bendis used that as the nucleus of the story and built an exciting story around it.

What everything all boiled down too was Hela the goddess of death attempting to kill Thor. Iron Man and Captain America are along for the ride so it's full of banter, sarcastic dialogue and surprisingly a little romance Steve managed to stir up along the way. Bendis really knows how to draw you into the story. You won't want to put this book down once you begin reading.

Alan Davis was the series artist. I've been a fan of his for some time now and enjoy his style a lot. It has an old school feel to it that definitely suited this story. It's a style that may not please everyone. I was really into it myself. A lot of the panels are just amazing. It was an action packed story that Davis drew out perfectly.

This is a great read I'd recommend to all fans of these characters. I know usually mini-series aren't always necessary or essential to keep up with continuity, but this one was certainly a lot of fun. It resolved a lot of built up tension between these heroes and was a great kick off to the Heroic Age.

    Rating: 5/5
