The Best Stuff In Comics: 7-6-15

This is where we present to you, the other best stuff besides the best covers, best story arcs, and best room full of puppies.

Each week we take a look at the other Best Stuff you might have missed...this week.

There may be some teeny tiny spoilers below.

DARTH VADER #7

Best “Like Father, Like Son” Moment

When many think of Luke Skywalker, there's certain classic scenes or moments that immediately come to mind from Episode IV. In this week's issue, we see where Luke gets the urge to simply stare off at the sunsets.

Best Reason You Should Not Underestimate Darth Vader

You would think people by now would realize you simply should not mess with Darth Vader. For this guy, it's the last thing he'll ever learn.

DETECTIVE COMICS #42

Best Friendly Burn of the Week

When you've worked with someone for a while, you reach a level of understanding. Sometimes a teasing nature develops but it's only done out of pure kindness. With Renee Montoya back, we see she and Harvey can kid around without anyone getting their feelings hurt.

RED SKULL #1

Best Reaction to Seeing a Dinosaur

In a comic superhero world, chances are you probably pretty much see it all. It's nice to see that these characters can still get surprised by the craziness their lives may bring them. Imagine seeing a real life dinosaur. How would you react?

WE STAND ON GUARD #1

Best Interesting Discussion on Superman

Many people have debated about Superman and where he's "really" from. In this new series taking place in the wilderness of Canada, we get an interesting take on the character. You'll have to buy the issue to read the full conversation.

UNBEATABLE SQUIRREL GIRL #7

Best Worst Thing to Say to Try to Stop a Riot

Image being a new hero. You come into a situation where a heated discussion starts to turn into a full fledge riot. How can you stop it? Probably saying the following isn't a good way to begin.

SECRET WARS #4

Best Reason to Have a Cape

We've heard many many times that superheroes should not have capes. I'm sure some readers out there probably have an image from The Incredibles ready to go on their computer if anyone ever brings it up. In this issue, we see Star-Lord actually argues the other side and seems to be pro-capes. Or maybe it really depends on the style of the cape?

X-O MANOWAR #38

Best Marriage Proposal

We're starting to get the impression that comic book characters aren't really allowed to get married. Despite the change in the demographics, it's been said readers can't relate to married characters. It's nice to see that change in X-O MANOWAR. Not only do we get the best proposal, we also get the best wedding and reception of the week.

GUARDIANS TEAM-UP #7

Best Use of the Comics Code

Violence is a necessary part of comic book. It's especially necessary in superhero comics when one of the characters is supposed to be a skilled and deadly killer like Drax. Is it always necessary to see all the gory details? We're spared from any traumatic nightmares in this issue.

BIZARRO #2

Best Accidental Punch

It's almost surprising this doesn't happen more often. Bizarro and Jimmy were having a conversation in Barry Allen's town. Unfortunately Bizarro meant to point in a direction they should go right when the Flash was running by.

I'm sure you can recognize some of the art.

Best Tourist T-Shirt

I'm not sure how many people would actually want to visit Starling City but if you do, you need to pick up this t-shirt.

YEARS OF FUTURE PAST #2

Best Speech

Colossus isn't usually a man of many words. He's often the strong silent type. We do see him sharing some of his wisdom among two of the young mutants in the issue.

GIANT-SIZE LITTLE MARVEL: AVX #2

Best Worst Person to Ask Who Won a Dodgeball Game

There's nothing funny about what the character that is the butt of the joke here has to deal with. Blindness is nothing to laugh at. But we know Daredevil isn't exactly blind in the true sense. It may be wrong, but it still makes us snicker just because it's Matt Murdock.

That's it this week. Let us know in the comments below what other Best Stuff you dug this past week. Thanks to @DJFanco, @AlexBeanLD, and @RyanYoushockMe for their suggestions. We'll try to have an installment next week but with San Diego Comic-Con, it might be tricky (unless we get some good suggestions).

Be sure to always look for the best stuff and always be sure to wear your cape with pride if you happen to have a really stylish one.
