I.... Actually liked this series. I mean to me? They managed to make Lobo less of a joke character, which to be honest he was just a badass joke character. The reason Deadpool managed to hold a series past the 90's was that they managed to make him both parody AND tell legit stories with occasional depth to them on his side of things...... Lobo NOT really. Something honestly tells me if they went with how he looks HERE then people would have been fine as I have yet to see anything majorly WRONG with this take on Lobo. He's not as bombastic sure, but the over the top violence is there.

It's a real shame too that this series is ending. It just seems DC keeps Culen Bunn pigeonholed in these series that don't really work out for him. He's a great storyteller, Sinestro is proof of that. I'm excited for his run on Uncanny Xmen.

This book was a train wreck for DC and I felt bad for Bunn because he was given a bad hand. The fan base was already gone before the first issue came out and now its to late to win them back even if they are now trying to make the new Lobo into the old one.

maybe this will leave an opening for Vril Dox to return? I had a feeling in the most recent issue of Silver Surfer Telos that they might dig in to Brainiacs clones a little more.

@gotham331:

1. Not everyone loves everything Marvel does, in fact there have been quite a lot of backlashes.

2. The industry is filled with SJW types that like to see Marvel screw over any straight white male characters they possibly can.

@donmeca2020: I highly don't old Lobo will return sense DC couldn't market him to a wider audience, If anything DC will take this as a sign that nobody cares about Lobo period and just let the character fade away into obscurity.

I really liked what Bunn did with Lobo. He gave the character some much needed depth, instead of being some one-note killing machine. He'll be showing up in Superman/Batman in February, so I look forward to that.

If whining was enough to cancel a series more then half the things Marvel puts out nowadays would never see past issue 1, the reason it was canceled is because i guess you guys didn't just like it enough and the sales where bad.

@guardiandevil83: I don't get how that's a good thing. If that's what Lobo fans want from the character then why should any writer ever use him other than to save time coming up with a new character.

@saint_talker: I'd be excited for his Uncanny if Greg Land wasn't the artist. I still plan on picking it up because I like Bunn well enough and the team is interesting but Land's art is awful. Not sure I'll be able to stick with that series if the story is anything less than amazing.

I'm quite sure IF they were to bring him back say like the version of Lobo from the 90s and earlier, there would be a im sure a steady amount of fans adding it to their pull lists immediately including myself.

I recall someone on here awhile back when they first announced this current series, stating the 90s Lobo was a parody/comic relief and was only made to make fun of certain artists drawing style and it would was too obscene. However considering how open society has become nowadays with current comics, i believe a Lobo series with the Lobo from back in the days with the same comedy and same crude content would flourish. look at what the market is saturated with..... Don't get me wrong i like a few of these characters myself but just look at it ? Let's take harley quinn and deadpool for an example. both are obscene and have some strange content in their books yet they are top sellers.

This title has actually been quite good. It started off a little shaky but each issue got progressively better. It's a shame that not enough people were prepared to give it a chance. Hopefully, DC don't give up on this incarnation of Lobo just yet ... there's still much potential

Great character? How did you consider pre-Flashpoint Lobo a great character? What did he bring to the table?

I don't think Lobo has ever been that successful on his own, save for the time period he was invented to appease; the much maligned 90s which was rather hit or miss to most.

Honestly, DC has no real reason to invest in Lobo at this point, outside of the occasional guest appearance fighting a hero or as a hired gun.

I actually liked the final issue though, and hopefully they can revisit the character down the line. I've been reading since the first issue and while it wasn't great, I've read far worse comics that continued on with less promising characters.

pretty boy lobo only lasted 13 issues? at least the original lobo series went up to I believe 40 or so.... that alone tells you people were reading it. If DC was smart they would get a new series started ASAP with the Lobo everyone wants and throw this current version back on the shelf for a long time.

@donmeca2020: Yeah, but that was an entirely different audience. Lobo was meant to parody everything they liked. Of course people were going to read it. Personally, I don't feel like pre-Flashpoint Lobo could be all that interesting to read about. If DC were to ever do anything with the old Lobo, I guess they could follow his life before he got killed by post-Flashpoint Lobo.

Though, I'm honestly more curious what this new, rabid version of Lobo does now.

If I recall correctly, they can't actually kill him.... he never dies. they could easily start the series off coming after the imposter Lobo that currently has a series.

Well, I say die because we've never seen him again, and Czarians can die. I think it just takes vaporizing their entire bodies so nothing remains, otherwise the false Lobo should have already come back or something, since he seems the type to want to try fighting the real Lobo for the title/name of...well, Lobo.
