I'm going on a limb and guessing that she either got written out and everyone forgot her. That tends to happen with most interesting Minor characters.

And what she's not mutant ? Havok and Iceman don't love Polaris because she's a mutant. And beside, after Annie left with Carter, Lorna and Alex are together again since "The Rise and fall of the Shi'ar Empire" and Iceman (as far as I know) is still crazy about her (Lorna). So Annie was just POINTLESS character (and stupid too)

Old topic I know, but the character was only written because Chuck Austen saw himself as Havok and modeled Annie as his wife. So he essentially wrote in a character to break up a happy relationship (obviously it didn't last. Annie and her son disappeared) that has existed from nearly the beginning of the comics. What a jerk.

Last time I saw an appearance from them was in X-Men: The End.

@The Dark Huntress: Yeah, I've actually read X-Men: The End since I first posted that, and I also realized that it's a plot thread that just never got picked back up by another writer, because Chuck Austen's run was more or less completely ignored after he left the book.

It is what it is, and I enjoy it. Claremont isn't what he used to be, but it was like a huge What If? story incorporating a lot of ideas that were left by the wayside, and used versions of characters that have since been lost to Marvel 616. It's not the best thing I've ever read, but it's definitetly worth the $7 I paid for the TPB.

I enjoyed it. You got a better deal than I did, though. :P
