Offered exclusively through Typhoo Tea as a mail-order promotional item, The Amazing World of Doctor Who reprinted several comic strips and prose stories from the 1976 Doctor Who Annual, along with a couple of new prose tales, The Vampires of Crellium and On the Slippery Trail. Typhoo is a well known brand of tea in Britain, whose name comes from the Chinese word for Doctor. Both of the new stories in this rare book were later reprinted in World Distributors' 1981 Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space, and again in 1984's Doctor Who Special - Journey Through Time.
