Storm, Ember and Nomad encounter an abandoned ship. It turns out the crew is devoured by a swarm of M'Anganesse insects who roams the airbubble of Pandarve. They rescue a boy from a sarcophagus who introduces himself as Renter Ka Rauw, a graduate from the famous Assassins Acadamy of Eriban. He forces the three so serve as his new crew for his graduation assignment which is to kill the King of Marrow. During their efforts to accomplish this task, the four of them end up in the deadly Barsaman tournament.
