"People are so jaded."
Synopsis: Miles officially makes his debut as Spider-Man. Meanwhile, Prowler meets with Scorpion.
What's Good?
Now that Miles Morales is officially the new Spider-Man, he's finally spreading his wings. The main factor to take account is that Miles is still new to being a superhero. He has no training whatsoever, but it feels like overtime, he'll get use to being Spider-Man. Not only that, but Miles seems to be maturing character wise. There's a great couple of pages with him and his mother talking about his father and uncle.
Meanwhile, there's development with Miles' uncle, Prowler, and the first appearance of the new Scorpion. He is a very different Scorpion that I'm used to seeing, and could be a possible replacement for Kingpin.
What's Bad?
Not really a fan of the artwork. Chris Samnee's approach is cartoony like Sara Pichelli's but it's a bit too cartoony. Some scenes just doesn't connect well. I really shouldn't complain about this since this issue is more like a breather before the next event, but I just don't like it.
I also find it strange that no other superhero is going to train Miles, and instead, he's learning from a video. DO THEY REALLY WANT THIS KID TO DIE?!
Overall:
Again, I am loving this new series. This is a good start as well for those who missed out on the previous issues.
