Following the popularity of the original comic strips, as well as the television series of the same name, The Addams Family was the first adaptation of Charles Addams' work to the big screen. The plot focuses primarily on the family's patriarch, Gomez Addams, as he is reunited with his estranged brother, Fester. But it is not long before the family suspect that Fester is not all that he seems.
