Superman and Wonder Woman have one chance to stop Zod and Faora's evil plan of world domination!
Superman and Wonder Woman vs. Zod and Faora to the death!
The Good
The conclusion of this story arc is much appreciated. Superman and Wonder Woman have teamed up to protect the world against Zod and Faora, and it's about time to finally see the big confrontation between the two power couples! Writer Charles Soule really went all out with the action and he made it interesting to see how the two teams fight each other with Superman vs. Zod and Wonder Woman vs. Faora. It was really cool how the fight went from full colors to silhouetted and showcased the two couples powers.
The pencils by Tony Daniel, with inks by Batt and Sandu Florea, and colors by Tomeu Morey all contribute to the great artwork of this issue. I really love the design from Daniel as he has always been one of my favorite artist and the inks and colors really make Tony Daniel's artwork standout and "pop". It makes the look of the characters "larger than life" and really captures the world beautifully.
The Bad
The Superman/Wonder Woman story isn't the best team up book, but it has been just a really good guilty pleasure reading material. In this issue particularly, the entire conclusion story feels forced. I found parts I enjoyed in it, but ultimately it has me saying "really?" The conclusion story is really built up a bit too much in this issue with the dialogue between Superman and Wonder Woman thinking this will be the last time that they fight together against Zod and Faora. The fighting is action packed and over-the-top, however if the story can't keep up with the action it's does not mean to keep shoving down more action and replacing the story. The story should've been a bit more well balanced with the action and make us really care for Superman and Wonder Woman's struggle. But in the end it didn't do that.
The Verdict
Who knows what is in store for Superman and Wonder Woman? We obviously know they aren't dead, but what will the next story arc be about with the apparent plans of Zod and Faora being put on hold thanks to DC's favorite power couple? The story was good, somethings are left to question, but if you want some good casual reading I suggest this. The artwork is fantastic as usual and overall a 3 out of 5.
