    First Officer Spock views Kollos There were a lot of changes made to 'Star Trek' in the third season. Creator Gene Roddenberry was replaced as showrunner, the series' budget was slashed, the network demanded more Spock based episodes, and the show was moved into the Friday night "death" slot.
