As quite often happens in this series when I pick up an issue to read a particular story I end up being more impressed with the other half of the issue more.  That was the case here.  In the new 52 of the DC Universe, I was somewhat interested in the reintroduction of the Challengers of the Unknown, but it has been only so-so thus far and so while looking up another issue in this series I ran across this one, and I figured I would have a look to see if the story here was any better.  Unfortunately it was not as the story here is mostly pretty similar to the newer version, a television show based story with mostly unconnected occurrences.  It was the other story with the Golden Age version of Fury that got my attention more.  Despite being a Wonder Woman fan, I have never been a fan of the character who in the silver age was depicted as her daughter (and really this is due to the connection  to the golden and silver ages).  After crisis though the character had to be rethought somewhat because all of a sudden there was no more golden age Wonder Woman.  The story told here benefits that quite well, telling a story of war, nazis and betrayal, with a bit of mythical redemption thrown in.  Again the "other" story here is the one that got my attention, as always with this series no longer canon but as a one shot of someone interested in reading  decent story, the first one here satisfies that.
