    Origin

Satsuki is the firstborn daughter of the scientist Soichiro Kiryuin and Ragyo Kiryuin, CEO of the clothing manufacturer Revocs. At the age of one-year-old, her parents experimented with her on trying to bond Life Fibers directly to the human nervous system. When the attempts on Satsuki failed, Ragyo chose to try again on the second daughter almost immediately after giving birth.

Soichiro had told Satsuki these secrets when she was five years old and that her baby sister had died in the attempt. It was this event that turned Soichiro against his wife and he wanted Satsuki to inherit his will, as he was soon killed by Ragyo for betraying her. Even at this young age, Satsuki feigned cooperation while she plotted to overthrow the Life Fibers and kill her mother out of vengeance for her father and unnamed baby sister.

Starting from a single school, she began a takeover of Japan's entire academic system. Honnouji Academy became her base of operations, and her most loyal followers, Nonon Jakuzure, Ira Gamagoori, Houka Inumuta, and Uzu Sanageyama, became the Elite Four of her student council. She also developed the Goku Uniforms, which supplied her loyalists with enhanced powers. Although, she never had a need for one herself.

Although she was the main antagonist for the first half of the series with an anti-villain motive, she becomes a deuteragonist in episode 17 as her mother Ragyō Kiryūin takes the role of the antagonist for the remainder of the series.

    Kill la Kill (Oct 2013)

Satsuki Kiryuin (鬼龍院 皐月 Kiryūin Satsuki) is the main character of the Kill la Kill anime series that was produced by Trigger. It's directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi and written by Kazuki Nakashima. The character design was done by Sushio.

A tie-in manga series illustrated by Ryou Akizuki began on October 4, 2013, in Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace magazine.

    Appearance

Satsuki is tall and slim with an angular face similar to her mother's. She has thigh-length dark-blue tinted hair that has inward diamond-shaped bangs hanging over her forehead, blue eyes, rather thick eyebrows. She has the habit of perpetually frowning, although she does smile, albeit on rare occasions. Satsuki had long hair as a child, and while it was cut slightly shorter during her teen years, she grew it out later on. In Episode 25, she cuts her formerly long hair to page boy shoulder-length style. She is sometimes accompanied by a wave of glowing light as well.

    Personality

Prideful to say the least, Satsuki is an extremely intelligent, calculating, and a patient young woman while simultaneously unwavering and iron-fisted. Unlike Ryūko and Senketsu, she had no shame in wearing the Kamui Junketsu in its most revealing form; she claims that her actions in donning Junketsu are, like the Kamui's name implies, "utterly pure". Satsuki refers to people as "pigs in human clothing", and justifies that the weak and foolish must be ruled. Due to her steadfast convictions, she also possesses a natural charisma and the ability to lead others. In spite of her pride, Satsuki is shown to be pragmatic and determined, willing to cast aside pride and using whatever means necessary in order to secure victory, even if it threatens her life. When fighting Ragyō Kiryūin, Satsuki noted that her willingness to fight her mother and the Life Fibers was due to revenge, noting that great causes are born from personal desires.

In spite of her behavior at school, Satsuki is not heartless. While very harsh and not very willing to tolerate failures, she does care a great deal for the Elite Four; and is as protective of them (in her own hidden ways) as they are to her. As a child, she would always drink Mitsuzō Soroi's tea, in order to protect his feelings; despite disliking its bitterness for a long time, she eventually found it delicious. When she reminisces about this to Soroi, Satsuki, herself, notes that she must have been a kind-hearted girl if she'd gone that far to protect her butler's feelings.

Satsuki genuinely loved her father and her sister, enough to avenge them by attacking the mother who disposed of them. Likewise, despite a bitter, almost hatred-fueled rivalry with Ryūko for most of the series, Satsuki noticeably softens up to her when she learns that Ryūko is the sister she'd long believed to be dead.

Following the final battle with Ragyō, Satsuki accompanied her younger sister on her date with Mako Mankanshoku and it is shown that she has a hidden side to her personality that, up to that point, was previously unrevealed: She can be somewhat bashful and coy, as shown in the pictures that were taken during the date.

    Relationships

    Ryūko Matoi

Satsuki appears moderately surprised when Ryūko brings up the latter's father's death, and with the Scissor Blade that Ryūko claims is the other half of the full weapon and demands to find the owner of that other half. A rivalry begins when Ryūko clashes against Satsuki in suspicion of being involved with her father's murder. Satsuki discloses little other than the speculation that there might have been involved on her behalf, although it was more or less a lie. It should be noted however that Satsuki has shown no real desire to do Ryūko serious harm, even when she is left broken and defeated at her feet she is shown to have covered her with a blanket and left at least one piece of Senketsu with her. Satsuki seems to regard her as a useful tool to help her achieve her goals; any other emotions towards her have yet to be seen. In episode 18, it is revealed that Ryūko is actually her younger sister who Satsuki thought was to be dead, which noticeably causes a deep change in their relation towards the second half of the series. In Episode 22, she and Ryūko makeup at last and agree to fight together to defeat Ragyō. At the end of the series, they finally develop a close sisterly relationship.

    Junketsu

While Satsuki has never been seen communicating with Junketsu, her initial encounter with him and the fact that she has to override him in order to transform show that, unlike Ryūko with Senketsu, she has to actually bend Junketsu to her will through sheer willpower. In episode 16, Junketsu starts getting agitated after being worn by Satsuki in Override mode for too long, prompting Shirō Iori to administer a Life Fiber inhibitor, allowing Satsuki to transform him into his normal state. This left her extremely tired.

Despite Satsuki's battle potential with Junketsu, Ragyō reveals that the Kamui has not completely yielded to Satsuki—it has still denied her its full power. Satsuki does not appear to be fond of Junketsu herself but deems it necessary if she wants to defeat Ragyō. When Junketsu's torn remains to try to creep away, Satsuki pins it down with the reforged Bakuzan blades, telling it to stay put. She later has Iori fuse a mixture of her own blood, Ryūko's blood, and a small amount of Senketsu's Life Fibers into Junketsu, which allowed it to be controlled more easily by her and also take on new forms like Senketsu. In Episode 24, along with the other students and their Goku uniforms, Satsuki willingly sacrifices Junketsu to allow Ryūko and Senketsu to reach Ragyō.

    Nui Harime

During Nui's first appearance, Satsuki is extremely cautious around her as she seems to have some knowledge of her power. However, she still maintains her strong and impassive front when addressing her. As Nui is Ragyō's "third daughter", it's possible that Satsuki has known her since Sōichirō's disappearance. During the battle aboard the Naked Sol, Satsuki quickly deciphers Nui's doubts about the brainwashed Ryūko's allegiance; she states that if Ryūko truly is with Ragyō, body, and soul, she'd be wielding both Scissor Blades. This shows that to Satsuki, Nui Harime is sometimes easy to read.

    Ragyō Kiryūin

Ragyō Kiryūin is Satsuki's mother. It is revealed in Episode 16 that Ragyō and Satsuki have a less than pleasant relationship. Ragyō sees her daughter as little more than an heir to COVERS and is revealed to have been sexually abusing her daughter for some time now. Knowing her mother's true attention to destroying the Earth; she secretly plotted against her to revoke such possibilities. In episode 18, Ragyō notes how, despite her daughter's impressive achievements of wearing a Kamui and double-crossing her, she was ultimately a disappointment due to being unable to draw out Junketsu's full power, eventually defeating her and taking the Kamui for herself because she failed to be infused with Life Fibers. However, Junketsu is recovered by Satsuki in episode 22 and the two bitterly face off numerous times later on.

    Nonon Jakuzure

Nonon first met Satsuki in kindergarten. Although Nonon didn't think much of Satsuki at first, Nonon became awestruck with Satsuki after Satsuki's sudden personality shift from happy and bubbly to serious and stone-cold (due to Satsuki's father, Sōichirō, telling Satsuki the awful truth about Life Fibers and Satsuki's mother, Ragyō Kiryūin). From then on Nonon has pledged her undying loyalty and friendship to Satsuki. While it's apparent that Satsuki respects Nonon, it's unclear whether Satsuki shares the same level of closeness to Nonon, as Satsuki seems to regard all of her compatriots equally.

    Mitsuzō Soroi

Soroi has served as Satsuki's personal butler ever since her childhood, and as such, they developed a strong bond. While professional obligations are very clearly established, Satsuki shows great respect and consideration for Soroi, even pretending to like his tea (which in fact she finds way too bitter) so as not to offend him.

    Senketsu

When Ryūko falls victim to Ragyō's brainwashing and is forced to wear Junketsu, Satsuki wears Senketsu in an attempt to stop them. She asks for Senketsu to lend her his power, despite any feelings of hatred he might feel for her. Later, in the last episode, Satsuki reassures Senketsu, saying she shares his worries about Ryūko, but reminds him of the girl's tenacity. Indirectly, she helped Senketsu realize that he was evolving into something beyond a simple hybrid with human DNA.

    Major Story Arcs

    Honnouji Academy

Satsuki's take over of the academic system had nearly been completed, with only the Western Kanto region holding out and a few anti-uniform gorillas. That was until Ryuko Matoi, a brash young girl wielding a red scissor blade, transferred to Honnouji Academy and looking for answers to her father's death from Satsuki. She was little threat until she returned from her first defeat wearing a Kamui she called Senketsu. Ryuko was defeating more and more council members to get to Satsuki.

Having waited long enough, Satsuki stormed into her family's manor to claim the Kamui that was created for her, Junketsu. The test of this new power was put on display the next morning at school against Ryuko. Satsuki was surprised by how much she now outclassed Ryuko and Senketsu. That was until Ryuko was able to finally synchronize with her Kamui to make a more even battle. With the fight ending in a draw, Satsuki challenged Ryuko to defeat all of Honnouji Academy's Student Council to once again face her to get the answers she wished.

Every attempt made against Ryuko failed until Sanageyama lost to her but returned with a new resolve, after having his own eyes sew shut. By allowing Ryuko to form a fighting club, she tested her friendship with Mako Mankanshoku by giving Mako a Two-Star Goku Uniform.

    First Annual Naturals Election

As part of a grander plan, Satsuki initiated the First Annual Naturals Election, where all students would battle for their chance to keep their status or excel. Satsuki stood over and watched as her Elite Four were defeated by Ryuko in the run-offs until it was interrupted by Nui Harime, who revealed herself to be Isshin Matoi's killer.

Satsuki battles a berserk Ryuko to stop her.
Satsuki battles a berserk Ryuko to stop her.

After Ryuko lost control of herself and her Kamui, Satsuki jumped in to first control her with a reason but was prepared to destroy her when that failed. Much of the Honnouji Academy was destroyed in their fight, then Satsuki held back Nui to allow Mako to bring Ryuko back to her senses. Several days later, Ryuko came to see Satsuki, and she falsely took responsibility for sending Nui after her father to claim his Rending Scissors and his Kamui research. She also thanked Ryuko. The data she gained through Ryuko's battles would be used to improve her Goku Uniforms for the next stage of her national take over.

    Tri-City School Raid Trip

As the school council prepared for the raids across the Kansai region, Satsuki went to see her mother, Ragyo Kiryuin, to question her about Nui's recent involvement and give her an update on her own plans. Upon her return, Satsuki arrived just as Nui was preparing to kill Ryuko after she had shredded Senketsu. Satsuki sent Nui away, covered Ryuko, and left with the remains of Senketsu. She gave them to Shiro Iori to distribute among suitable hosts' Goku Uniforms then left to lead the raids, but she took the Seki Tekko piece for herself.

    Satsuki and Ryuko stand off.
    Satsuki and Ryuko stand off.

All the raids went through with little trouble with the exception of Kaneo Takarada's Osaka-led opposition. Satsuki joined that battle herself. Upon victory, Ryuko arrived to reclaim Senketsu's final piece. As the Elite Four battled the gorillas of Nudist Beach, Satsuki and Ryuko fought across the ruins of Osaka. She held the advantage, despite Ryuko's noticeable growth, but Satsuki lost hold of her Bakuzan when Ryuko's desperation move blinded her eyes with blood. In turn, Satsuki manipulated Junketsu to a spear to her throat. They remained in this stand-off until Ryuko made the condition of her calling off her troops. Satsuki agreed and was prepared to leave Bazukan in Ryuko's care, but she returned it anyway. Soon after, Nonon had already destroyed Nudist Beach's underground base. With their objective completed, Satsuki and her army returned to Honnouji Academy, but her personal helicopter was commandeered and redirected to the Kiryuin Manor by Nui, who had been watching the battle disguised as the pilot.

    Cultural & Sports Grand Festival

Upon tending to the strain of wearing Junketsu, Ragyo led Satsuki deeper into the manor to reveal the Primordial Life Fiber, the source of all Life Fibers and the cause of humanity's evolution. As her mother was leaving, she ordered Satsuki to begin the preparations for the Cultural & Sports Grand Festival. Once back at Honnouji Academy, the preparations were made for Ragyo's appearance. She followed her mother's plan to the letter. The Life Fibers of the audience were activated, and once Ragyo was distracted by the appearance of Ryuko, Satsuki made her move and pierced her mother through the back with her sword.

Ryuko begrudgingly joined Satsuki in trying to stop Ragyo, but her mother soon escapes Sastuki's trap. She even turned the Honnouji Academy students against both of them. Satsuki was soon overwhelmed by Ragyo's strength, the Bakuzan was broken, and Ragyo stole Junketsu from her. When her mother turned on Ryuko, she revealed that she is in fact the baby sister that they both had thought died. In an act of desperation, Satsuki blew up the stadium, but Ragyo survived.

    One Month Later

Satsuki in Senketsu vs. Ryuko in Junketsu
Satsuki in Senketsu vs. Ryuko in Junketsu

Satsuki was then caged beneath Honnouji Academy for over a month as part of her mother's next plot, the Shinra-Koketsu. She waited and put up with her mother's humiliations as she planned her escape. She sharpened the false toenail made of the same material as Bakuzan into a claw. When her Elite Four, teamed up with Nudist Beach, arrived, she broke free of her chains. She could also see that Ryuko was captured by Ragyo and was forcing Junketsu onto her. Not long after landing on the Nudist Beach's battleship carrier, a brainwashed Ryuko attacked in Junketsu. Lacking the power to fight back, Satsuki turned to Senketsu for help along with the new weapons that were forged from the remains of Bakuzan, and she passed on her strategy to her Elite Four through Mako.

Satsuki fought with a valiant effort, but her lack of true synchronization put her body under terrible strain and left too many delays in transformation. However, her actions were all that she needed to step up her trap. Unfortunately, Nui intervened and revealed that Junketsu had been sewn to the Life Fibers in Ryuko's body. Ryuko then proceeded to cut Senketsu off of Satsuki. When Ryuko was later distracted, Satsuki cut open Junketsu's chest plate to give Mako and Senketsu the opening they needed. Once Ryuko was reunited with Senketsu, the Nudist Beach and Satsuki's Elite Four defeated and absorbed the Life Fibers of the COVERS drones Nui left behind in her escape.

    Life Fiber Rebellion

Satsuki later apologized to Ryuko for manipulating her in the past, and they formed a strategy to stop Ragyo from covering the world in Life Fibers. Junketsu was repaired and enhanced with Ryuko's blood and parts from Senketsu. Satsuki could now use all of Senketsu's abilities, and the duo teamed up to strike at their mother, who was on the way to Honnouji Academy on top of the Original Life Fiber. As their mother proved to be an incredibly deadly foe for the pair of them, Satsuki acted as a decoy to allow Ryuko to strike inside the Original Life Fiber, then she was joined by the Elite Four in new Goku Uniforms. Before Satsuki and Ryuko could invade Honnouji Academy, Nui and Ragyo revealed the Shinra-Koketsu.

    Satsuki and Ryuko combine forces
    Satsuki and Ryuko combine forces

Satsuki and Ryuko fought against their mother, but the power of Shinra-Koketsu was too much. Satsuki's new weapons were shattered, and Ragyo even paralyzed the Life Fibers in all the Kamui and Goku Uniforms. The sisters turned the tide by both using one of the Scissor Blades and seemed to defeat Ragyo, but she escaped death by merging with Nui. She launched herself into space to activate the satellite that would awaken all the world's Life Fibers. Everyone gave up the power of their uniforms, and Satsuki sacrificed Junketsu over to Ryuko to enable her to chase after and fight Ragyo.

    Graduation from Ragyo

In the time after Ragyo's defeat and Honnouji Academy was to be closed down, Satsuki was lost for a direction for her life. While she was alone, she was abducted by Rei Hououmaru, who had created evil replicas of Satsuki and her Elite Four. Hououmaru was using Satsuki as a power source for Honnouji Academy's Last Stitch Defense System and had also abducted Mako if Satsuki was to try and end her own life to stop her.

Once Ryuko crushed the Last Stitch Defense, Satsuki was free, but Hououmaru still wanted her revenge. Satsuki dodged the thrust of her knife but was still cut along her neck. She convinced Hououmaru to put aside her rage and join her in creating a world to protect the weak. With the island sinking, everyone was evacuated. Satsuki and Ryuko went their separate ways but agreed to meet again. Satsuki cut her hair to leave it behind with her memories of her sinking school.

    Past/History

Satsuki was the first-born child to Ragyō Kiryūin and Sōichirō Kiryūin where she soon became the first failed test subject of being fused with Life Fibers. However, after Sōichirō learned the truth about Ragyō, he knew that he would be punished if he betrayed her. He secretly taught a 5-year-old Satsuki about her mother and the secrets of Life Fibers. He then revealed that Junketsu will be her "wedding dress" before he took an infant Ryūko Matoi with him into hiding.

While in kindergarten, Satsuki was friends with Nonon Jakuzure, who knew what Satsuki was thinking and decided to join her in her resolve.

During her rise to power, Satsuki helped Ira Gamagōri save a boy who was being forced into jumping off the roof of Rinne-Dō Junior High, discovered Hōka Inumuta following his hacking into the Revocs Corporation's computer systems, and was impressed with Uzu Sanageyama's fighting skills. Upon Honnōji Academy being established, she became the school president with her followers becoming the Student Council's Elite Four.

When Ryūko Matoi arrived at Honnōji Academy and bonded with Senketsu, Satsuki snuck into her mother's house and bonded with Junketsu. She then challenged Ryūko and easily defeated her, proving herself to be the more capable Kamui wearer at the time. She later decides to use Ryūko to help her rebuild Honnōji Academy's structure from the ground up by letting her destroy all the students who came in her way and thereby only leaving the strongest. After a while she takes this a step further and announces the First Naturals Election where only the most capable students would rise to the top, this being the Elite Four and Ryūko. Her plan was interrupted,

After this, Satsuki announces the Tri-City Schools Raid Trip to take over the Kansai region, the only area outside her control. Though in reality, her real objective was to flush out Nudist Beach from hiding. The Raid Trip proves to be a success and Satsuki manages to take control of all the schools in Japan to allow Revocs Corporation to distribute its clothing to them. She fights Ryūko again during the Raid Trip during the latter's self-appointed mission to rebuild Senketsu who had been destroyed by Nui Harime. The pieces were retrieved by Satsuki and distributed to students on the Raid Trip but Ryūko successfully managed to rebuild her Kamui, even managing to retake the Seki Tekkō from Satsuki herself.

After the attack on the S.S. Naked Sun in Episode 22, Satsuki allows Ryūko, still synchronized with Senketsu, to punch her, although the Elite Four protect her by standing in the way. After explaining the reasons for her actions to Ryūko, Satsuki calls herself a fool; she states that she cannot hope to win against Ragyō by employing her cruel methods—which include manipulating and using one's, own family. Satsuki finally sees that the world's beauty comes not from being "cut from the same cloth", but from the innumerable, unexplained things that the world overflows with. She asks Ryūko to help her fight to protect that "beautiful world"; upon saying her part, Satsuki bows to Ryūko—a shocking sign of sincerity. Though Ryūko tries to stay angry at her, this uncharacteristic act convinces her to let her anger go.

After this, Satsuki becomes a bit more open and relatable to others. She shows this when the gang has a celebratory dinner of Sukuyo Mankanshoku's signature croquettes when she agrees with Mako about there being delicious; and when Nonon Jakuzure and Uzu Sanageyama have an argument involving disrespect (Nonon) and lack of tact (Uzu), telling Ira that hearing them bicker "makes it feel that I've truly come home". She also refers to Aikurō Mikisugi as Mikisugi-san (lit. "Mr. Mikisugi"), to his shock, when she places him in charge of the Naked Sol. Satsuki displays that she is still dead-set on accomplishing the mission at hand. For example, in episode 23, she follows Ryūko's plan, distracting Ragyō while allowing Ryūko to reach the Life Fiber core unhindered. Later, in Episode 24, she tells the Elite Four to destroy the transmitter while she and Ryūko fight Ragyō.

In episode 24, as Ryūko falls back to Earth, Satsuki screams at her to hang in there, and catches her with the help of essentially every other character, holding on to her as the force from Ryūko's descent propels them all back into the school. Once the dust settles, she gives Ryūko a warm welcome home.

In episode 25, Satsuki is first shown fighting Uzu Sanageyama in a kendo match, in which she wins after Uzu's kendo broke. Uzu's remark on why he held back was because he didn't see her and that her resolve had vanished. Later stating that he couldn't bring himself to strike her. Satsuki tells everyone there that Honnōji Academy has a month before being decommissioned as their plan against Ragyō had succeeded. During the "Honnōji Academy First Graduation Ceremony", she told Soroi to make tea for all the students to drink and thanking him for all he had done. As Soroi leaves, she planned to make a speech but was taken by a clone of herself.

After being captured by the false Satsuki, Rei Hōōmaru appears and tells her that she's getting revenge for the death of Ragyō and Nui. Rei uses Satsuki as a "first-rate source for the activation of Life Fibers" for the Honnōji Academy Final Defense Apparatus. Satsuki comments that if she dies it will shut down but Rei reveals that Mako has also been captured and is also being used as a source. However, Rei has ultimately defeated thanks to Ryūko and the rest of the Academy's efforts.

Rei then returned to the captive Satsuki and Mako as they were trying to escape but Rei then lunged towards Satsuki, cutting her hair and the side of her neck. Satsuki tells Rei that she "can't imagine the hell she had lived through because people don't understand, the world needs you". Rei replied, saying that she was speaking nonsense to which Satsuki said "That's who we are." Rei drops her knife, accepting her offer. Ryūko appears and comments to Satsuki, saying that she had finally put her sword away, in which both sisters smiled at each other. They all leave the now-sinking Honnō City. During the evacuation, Satsuki uses the knife Rei dropped and cuts her hair leveled, as "a small offering to our alma mater". Satsuki then orders all students to salute to pay respect to Honnōji Academy.

During the credits of Episode 24, Satsuki is shown joining Ryūko and Mako on their "date", showing that she is really a kind individual who has come to care greatly for her little sister. She also shows a somewhat shy side as she blushes when Mako and Ryūko take a picture of the three of them together.

    Powers & Abilities

    Swordsmanship

Satsuki's training with the katana is unknown, but it's likely from traditional training. Her proficiency with the sword is nearly unmatched. Even from a young age, she was able to swing her katana with incredible force, even while it was sheathed. Later, she is seen to be even slightly more powerful than Ryuko with her activated Kamui, After obtaining her own Kamui, this only served to increase the power of her swordsmanship skill.

    Chi Techniques

Satsuki has also been shown to be able to use the ability to manipulate chi with the power of her own will. In the past, she once knocked out a large group of young men with a glare.

    Physical Prowess

Satsuki is accepted as the most powerful fighter of the Academy with almost superhuman physical strength, speed, endurance, and reflexes. Her middle-school self was able to emit a fighting spirit capable of downing 500 men, and she was able to incapacitate Ira Gamagōri despite his superior size, age and with him wearing steel armor. Even when stark naked, and with her hands restrained, she still had enough skill and power to kill multiple COVERS using nothing more than her two altered toenails.

    Weapons & Equipment

    Bakuzan

    Satsuki's Bazukan
    Satsuki's Bazukan

The Bakuzan is Satsuki's cherished sword. It's unknown where she gained this katana, but she is almost never seen without it. Her power with this sword was even greater than Ryuko's with her Kamui. The material of the Bakuzan is durable and sharp enough to slice into a Kamui. It's originally based upon ultra-hardened Life Fibers.

The blade was broken in the battle with her mother, then remade by Nudist Beach and her own Elite Four into two new blades, the Bakuzan-Gako and Bakuzan-Kouryu. These actually proved to be a more effective weapon against Life Fibers, because it allowed her to sever them from both sides, preventing regeneration. Unfortunately, these were also later demolished by Ragyo in the final battle. Its strength is so great that one slash is enough to damage a transformed Kamui. While durable enough to clash with Ryūko's Scissor Blade on their multiple battles, the Bakuzan was eventually broken when clashing against Ragyō's fist.

    Junketsu

    Life Fiber Override: Junketsu
    Life Fiber Override: Junketsu

Junketsu is a Kamui, a type of school uniform made of 100% Life Fibers, that Satsuki Kiryuin wears. He was created by the Kiryuin Organization specifically for her when she was a child. Her father called it her "wedding dress". However, Junketsu was eventually sealed away, and she was forbidden to use it by her mother. This still didn't stop her from claiming it after she was challenged by Ryuko in Senketsu.

Though it normally appears to be a white school uniform, it can transform into an incredibly powerful suit of armor that boosts her strength and speed. This ability is called Life Fiber Override - Kamui Junketsu (「人衣圧倒」神衣・純潔, "Jin'iattō" Kamui Junketsu) The cost of this power is that he needs to draw out Satsuki's blood.

Kamui have been shown to be capable of various secondary transformation states, but Satsuki initially showed only limited abilities to manipulate its form, such as using the shoulder spikes as spears and grapplers. However, wearing Junketsu and using Life Fiber Override mode takes an incredible strain on Satsuki's body. This is due to her limited ability to bond with Life Fibers. It was later enhanced with parts of Senketsu and Ryuko's own blood.

    Junketsu Transformations

Junketsu Senpu (純潔旋風, Junketsu Senpū) is a flight-based form of Junketsu. The lower half of the armor changes to create jets that allow her to fly and maneuver at incredible speed.

Junketsu Senpu Zankan (純潔旋風斬奸, Junketsu Senpū Zankan) is a secondary transformation of Junketsu's flight ability. This was based upon Satsuki's earlier experiences in battling in Senktesu. On top of the flight ability, this covers Junketsu in a series of blades for increased offensive abilities while in the air.
