After the Eternals prevented the Emergence of Tiamut the Dreaming Celestial, the inert material from Ego's expansion became alive and active. The Department of Damage Control has assigned Agent Heather Douglas to examine the relationship between the statue god and the Ego material. If Ego's essence should bond with Tiamut, it could restart the Emergence, cause Ego to be reborn as a fully developed Celestial or Ego could remake Earth as his new host world. During her investigation, Moondragon learned that Ego was born during an Emergence but his birth was cut short by a wielder of the Necrosword. Ego's drifting head is what became known as Knowhere.

Even though the Emergence on Earth was prevented, Tiamut remains active in her frozen statue form. Tiamut communicates with Agent Heather Douglas from the Department of Damage Control. Heather learns a great deal from the Dreaming Celestial. Despite Tiamut's infancy, she shares a collective knowledge with the other Celestials.

Yondu had a daughter with Nova Corpsman Samaya. When Samaya died, her daughter Delphinia was freed from her promise to stay away from Star-Lord who she held responsible for Yondu's death.
